Nice to see some current-gen stuff. I'm not too excited about it, looks the same.

Anybody notice differences? I am not very good at analyzing videos.

Seems FSS remains, I'm seeing a whole lot of jumpshot blocking though.

What a waste, I thought it was going to be about the 360. The Wii looks like crap and did he say you can't even control player movement, just passing and shooting? That sounds retarded!!!

If you listened carefully, that would be family control (I.E. for newcomers to the game). Players using advanced control would be able to control their players fully. IMO, this is a good way to expand the sports gaming scene to newer, less hard-core players, and ultimately, more revenue.

watch the video guys, I do think this is what we will be getting for the PC version.

I saw "poke" steals like 2005 and before and also some blocks where the center just put his hands in the air. Also auto-replays.

3 things that really make me happy, but i gotta watch it again to see if some other key issues have been addressed.
Opinions are my own.

Looks like a 07 bug fix release to me on Current Gen. No way will I be buying it for PC unless something drastic happens. I can't believe they've barely changed anything after the horrific reviews.

Next-gen actually looks rather promising, but I'll probably end up getting 2k8 (why hasn't it even been announced yet?).

You thought the last generation would actually get something more? EA's focus is all on the current gen, as it should be. (Only thing is that PC should be getting current gen instead of another PS2 port.) Heck, the last game was simply a "bug addition" release.

The rumor is that 2K8 is getting a new engine (like NHL) and they did not think it was ready to show.

Heh. It's pretty clear you're not a hardcore gamer if you make statements like that.

Everyone seems to have fallen for IGN's "copy a specific focus item to every version of the game" method.

The stat overlays are pretty, looks like they're doing something to the polygon frontrows. Love how he says "Oh-fence" as well. Too bad the guy is trying to claim the motions of the Wii-mote are being recognized, when it's just a bastardized control scheme. Have to wait until the second try at the Wii to see what they can truly come up with. Gameplay looks as terrible as the last two versions.

Consider this the "Last Gen" representation of Live 08 at E3. There's no reason for them to show the PS2 version as everyone knows it'll be the same, and no reason to show the PC version because nobody cares. Since the Wii has something new, they're showing it. Did they even show the last gen games at their event last year? It was probably on the show floor, but there is no "show floor" this year.

That video in the background was pathetic...Same old shit all over again, ridiculous physics, horrible rebounds and steals,... I'm really wondering what there is to look forward to with the PC version (assuming it looks similar to the Wii version of course).

There's another video there that was just added, but one of the ign employees is an idiot because it is "NBA 08" and not Live.

That video looks horrible. The jerseys look way to shiny as in the previous screenshots.... and its extremely jerky, plus the ball seems to still be warping into players' hands.

Wonders if numbers are also just as shiny... there were no numbers in this video, annoying.

That part at like 3:14 when Z gets blocked and then glitches in midair... messed up.

EA likes to port current-gen stuff to the Wii like madden, but actually they did an amazing job, unlike this. If this is what the PC version looks like, then forget it.

Is this guy british or something? He's kind of funny, but the game itself isn't funny.

I just watched it again, and I saw what looked like a sig shot. At about 3:45 someone on the Spurs gets blocked by Ilgauskas without jumping, but if you look at the shot animation, he had the ball at his chest and not above his head sort of like Shawn Marion's shot.

PG-s scored a lot...( Spurs were the CPU controlled team if I'm right and Parker went to the rack on almost every posession)

Personally I Really hope that this is not what the PC version is supposed to look like! There was not even one piece of new animation, although I couldn't watch it till the end, so there might be some!

Don't know if they are afraid to show anything about the PC version or just haven't finished some groundbreaking gameplay features, which I highly doubt...

Seems like this is the right time to buy an Xbox 360...

that was a leaning shot to the left, so it didn't look like a normal shot.

looks pretty much like a combo of live 06 and 07, noticed a lot of guys were shooting that superstar scorer off-balance double clutch jumpshot.

Take a look. He's holding the ball at chest level and jumps straight up and down. It's ugly, but it's something.

Yeah and then he gets blocked by a player that doesn't even jump.

This game would be fun, but the wii needs a firmware update or something.

When I play wii the wiimote it's so unresponsive, it takes up to a second after I make the motion for it to go through.

Also, IMO the wii gets boring fast, and I figure the shooting motion with the wiimote, etc will get boring pretty fast too.

If someone else buys this game and I play it, it might be entertaining for a little bit though :)

I don't care about graphics on the wii, we've come to know they suck, that's why it only costs $250 as opposed to $400 and $500/$600. I like to fry eggs on whatever game does that :-p, but I'm sure the PC will be a little more juiced than the wii version, but maybe not, because EA is concentrating everything on the next-gen version and the wii version (controls), I'm sure the PC will be thrown together at the last minute unfortunately :\
