Idea: Retro Resource Packs for NBA Live 2005-08

Working on the Ultimate Jordan roster and sorting out all the assets for the different seasons got me thinking. We're definitely past the peak of modding for NBA Live 2005-08, but there's seemingly still some interest there, especially as it's fairly easy to convert assets and even rosters between those four games. To that end, I've wondered about the idea of a retro resources pack (or packs).

Essentially, it would be a collection of resources for retro mods. Player faces, team artwork that spans a certain era for each franchise, that sort of thing. That way, there'd be ready-made files with their own filenames/team abbreviations, which could be re-used in any project and not cause any conflicts.

We do have a lot of resources available already, so it's something we could start compiling. Obviously original artwork could also be extracted from games and converted for use with other titles. As noted, the intention would be to have assets that are available for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 08.

Anyway, it's an idea I wanted to bring up in case there are still people around who are interested in modding the last few PC releases of NBA Live. Once such a resource pack is put together, it'd be there in our Downloads section for anyone to make use of.
