MY joystick won't working on nba 08

my joystick won't working
my joystick working on other games but not in nba 08
when i go to configure my controls its working there
but i start match my joy stick won't work there
i got an error on timeout
help me

Assuming your controller is supported by NBA Live 08, you may want to try reinstalling the drivers.

this is how i set up my usb ps2 controller, might help

in the configure controller

create a new controller or profile..for got what its called
set things based on ur joystick
save it
when u are in the select team mode
click on the controller icon..or joystick..or which ever showsup....if its a keyboard then its not reading ur device..if so start over (even restart the game)
when that menu pops up make sure u select the name of the profile u saved

Ok I hate this as well but for some reason, NBA Live 08 doesn't recognise the joy pad/stick if its plugged in after you open it. Simple solution: plug it in before you click the exe and it should work fine. You might have to go into options to change the keys to your liking but it should work all the same.
If this doesn't work, there a fault with the joy pad so just get a new one

As far as your issue is concerned though, are you playing with a cracked version of the game? If so, that would be the cause of the timeout issue and possibly the cause of the joystick issues as well. Please note that discussing cracked copies of the game is strictly against the rules so we can't help you out there.

That error generally only occurs when trying to play the game without the disc. Failing that, it might be caused by a patch you've got installed.

Andrew,just a question bout configuring controllers.i configure my controller and assigned new controls,when i tried using the buttons it doesnt work at all..like the "H" and "K" buttons which are i think crossover in the default.is there a way to recover and use these controls using my configured controller?

Change the controller configuration again, I would assume.

I seem to be having a problem but it works on another PC
I plug in the controller and it shows and i select wired xbox controller but when i start the game the player is moving and dribbling all by himself in practice mode
