Help with shoe!

Wed Aug 08, 2012 8:58 pm

I'm making some new shoe, the imagine is quite good already, in live 06 they're good but in live 08, the light on those is just too much, make it shining, just like tinkerbell. Is there anyway to make the light go away? I use FshX to edit shxxx.fsh file.

the 08 shoe files have an alpha layer with them, so you need to add that to your 06 shoes

Show some previews! And JaoSming is right you should add an alpha layer on shoes.

Would you mind showing me how to get the alpha layer? Actually a "step by step manual" would be very helpful. In live 06, I just "borrow" a shoe someone made then import my imagine, in live 08, I try that and it's still shinning.

Nice shoes

1.Run Photoshop, open up your created shoe.
2.Press ctrl+A (to select all image) and ctrl+C (to copy the image)
3.In the Photoshop option menu (located in the uppermost) click layer then new layer.
4.Once you've done that paste the copied images, the one you copied from step number 2 to the new layer.
5.In the Photoshop option menu Click "Adjustments" then "Images" and "Desaturate" options. Then you will see your pasted image (In the new layer) turned into a black and white image.
6.From that black and white image (which you will be using as the alpha layer)Press ctrl+A and Ctrl+c again.
7. Then in the "CHANNNELS" tab,you will see 4 channels (RGB,red, green and blue channels) you will see at the bottom a small rectangle with circle inside, click that then a new channel will appear.(That will be a pure white channel with a caption Alpha 1.
8.Click inside that white background then paste the black and white image from step 6 (There you go the alpha layer you will see a pinkish like color)
9.Back from the New Layer tab (named as layer 1) column, right click then click delete layer.
10.Save your work as DDS file.

TanyaMarkovA, Thanks a lot for your help, I can do it now. Just finish 4 shoes, look pretty neat to me. It's really amazing how you could make so many so far when I took almost 1hr for just 1 shoes. May I ask you a question? Is there any rule for quantity of upload file? I plan to make 20 shoes but the source quite limited to me so I cloud made about 10, is it ok just 10 shoe for a pack since I see other often have more than 30.
Oh and the lastest work, Lebron 9 MVP (not release in real yet, I assume :cheeky: ) What do you think?

You could upload as much as you want into the NLSC download database just as long it is no more than 100 mb in size.

Welcome! Glad I helped..You can upload as many shoes as you can.BTW,make your previews the same as mine (just a suggestion) so that it will be more detailed.Do that in the Edit Player screens to emphasize the shoes.

F12 will capture a screenshot in the menus, same as in Instant Replay.

As far as number of files you can upload, no, there's no limit. It's up to you whether you want to release shoes as a pack, a series of related packs or individual updates. Packs can be more convenient, but sometimes individual releases make it easier for people to find what they're looking for. Patchers and patch users alike all have their own preference, so do whatever works best for you.
