3 Point Plays Help

I haven't been on for awhile and forgot all the rules but if I'm breaking one of the rules or posting in the wrong forum please don't complain about it.What plays do I need to run in nba live 08 to get a player open for a 3 pointer? I usually play offense in triple threat.

Dump the ball in the post. Back - down ... then maybe you will be doubled ... so hit the open guy ... swing the ball .. open three or jump shot ... just variations ... also try using pump fakes to get defenders in the air then drive to the hoop ...

Thanks. But now I have another question. When I get the open 3 pointer how long do i have to hold the shoot button down to make the shot? Whats been happening in the game for me is I get the open J and miss it 1/4 of the time. I don't want to change the shooting percentage setting.... just want to better my shot in the game.
