TEAMGEAR.DBF TROUBLE!!!

Postby Dc311 on Tue Oct 11, 2011 4:52 am

I was editing the jersey info in the teamgear.dbf file and i noticed i made two new columns(or rows, whatever they are called) that i did not need.So i deleted them. The problem is that in the game,it still shows that they are listed in the roster.I really do not want to start over with the teamgear.dbf..And no i did not make a back-up.I forgot.Stupid me,i know.

This guy had the same problem back then but the answer was never answered.

Starting over is probably the only feasible option. However, if you're using the spreadsheet software from OpenOffice or a more recent version of Excel (just make sure you save in the right DBF format in Excel!), you could try copying data over from the damaged teamgear.dbf to the fresh copy of teamgear.dbf.

I thought DB Commander is the best available software to edit .dbf files?

Yes, it tends to be the safest. There are alternatives though and they do have their advantages, you just have to be careful not to save the dbf in the incorrect format.

Thanks Andrew.I am going to just start over.I am just tired of looking at numbers and typing them in as well as typing in "True" and "False".
