cap hair edit?

Postby KidJustin on Mon Feb 02, 2009 5:08 pm

Is it possible to create a new/edit the hairstyles available through live's default create-a-player option?

i want to give a created player a custom hairstyle, but dont want to go throught creating a complete cf or anything. so i was wondering where i can find the files where i can edit the hairstyles.....like when u grab a default arm/leg skin to create custom tats/gear.

Do you mean can you edit the hair for a player with a cyberface using Create-a-Player? If so, no you can't.

You can change the hair colour and switch to a different style with a created player but you can't customise the styles themselves without changing that style for every created player. For example, if you replaced one of the short crop/fade styles with Dennis Rodman-like multicoloured hair, any created player who was assigned that style would use the new one that was created. The only way to give a player a completely unique custom appearance is to give them a custom cyberface cyberface with appropriate head and hair shape files.

That's fine if all created players assigned that specific style will have that custom hairstyle...my question is how do i edit the (create-a-player, selectable) hairstyle in the first place?

well you could try installing this if you wanted to
http://download.nba-live.com/index.php?act=view&id=1049

it makes the CAP textures higher resolutions

or you can edit the textures located in the sgsm/common/xplrcz.viv file
Opinions are my own.

thanks for the help.

now that i kno where the hair files are, how do i open them? usually when i want to open/edit a .fsh file i use FshX, but for all the files in the xplrcz.viv i get runtime error and FshX wont open it. same thing happens when if i try to open the your CAP textures.

I believe Dolffin is the best program to use these days when working with the .viv files (and .fsh files therein).
