About Draft Picks

Thu Jul 29, 2010 10:32 pm

i have a question. I have 1 available spot in my rosters and i have 7 draft picks. i signed w. sczerbiak and traded him for 2 draft picks as well as A. walker again for 2 draft picks and J. williams for 1 draft pick plus my 2 draft picks so i have 7 draft picks. would i get 7 rookies after i finish my dynasty game? thank you.

Unfortunately, NBA Live still restricts the number of players on the roster to fifteen during the offseason. It would be great if the roster capacity were expanded during the offseason and the user had to make cuts down to a maximum of fifteen players during the training camp phase but since that's not possible, you'll just have to make sure you have the space if you want to use all seven picks.

i hope that there would be some way to have as many players as possible in the future. I just enjoyed playing NBA live after I found this website. thank you for this, and i hope that one can make an update about having many players in one team.

I have a question, i tried editing the ratings of one of my players to 98 using DB commander, and tried to trade him, but he still gets rejected. does changing the overall rating is enough so that other teams would most likely want my player?

I also tried trading using DB commander, i just changed the number on the team column, would my game crash?

sorry for asking so many questions. I'm just getting excited and wants to have each and every player that i like to one team.

Can't be done, unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure that the game still looks at the raw PLYRVALUE field. If you're going to do that, then I'd suggest changing the player's individual ratings and then going to Edit Player in your Dynasty, select that player and then just save the changes and exit Edit Player (you don't need to actually change anything, just go in and exit while saving the changes). That will force a recalculation of the overall rating and the hidden raw PLYRVALUE attribute, which will successfully change the player's trade value,

Note that other factors such as the CPU team's record, their roster, who you're asking for in return and the position of the players you're trading will still be factors.

I also tried trading using DB commander, i just changed the number on the team column, would my game crash?

Most likely. Trading through DBF editing in Dynasty Mode is pretty finicky and very prone to crashes.

Players individual ratings, is that the overallrtg in the DB Commander?

No, those are the individual player ratings. Field Goals, Three Pointers, Free Throws, Dunking, etc. Boost them, have the game recalculate the overall rating and the player's value, then try to trade him.

It's not the most honest approach but if that's the way you want to go then that's the most effective method.
