You download the players, and put the .fsh and .ebo files into the sgsm folder (which is located in c_drive/Program Files/NBA Live 08/sgsm) and when you play the game, the players should be added (I don't know on which roster though

Have you created the mentioned players in the roster? Perhaps you may want to download Andrew's updated roster patch.
