DBF Commander Question

Mon Sep 08, 2008 12:28 pm

I know its not possible to bring back the urban court but I still think it is. I changed the location ID for team adidas to the urban court but it crashed.Probably because it has no patches for it. I then changed it to the ESPN practice court but it crashed probably because it was alot of 2x clashing. I think we can bring the urban court back to NBA live 08 if we have some one make a patch for it. The urban court is still in the database. I don't think ea left it there for nothing. I just tried out the other practice gym out as well. It turned out to be the Tandy gym for I think NBA Live 06 or 07 I don't remember. The only thing wrong with that is the bench players are in the middle of the court. But I know thats fixable I've seen that happen before in other patches. I think someone should really look into this. If you don't believe me I'll provide a screenshot. This could be the next big thing for NBA Live 08 you never know. Oh and one more thing can anybody do a patch for the rbk arena because I found that too. Its the version from 07. It needs a 3d crowd patch and the stadium signs need to be done along with the dornas.

there is not a known way to bring the urban court back by selecting it for 1v1 games. however it has been known possible to play 5v5 games on these courts.

you should see this
http://www.nbaliveforums.com/viewtopic. ... 078#833078

now remembering that any court made in 06 or 07 will work in 08 you can hit up our download section and see what we have there. for instance

there is tandy for 06
http://www.nba-live.com/download/pafile ... le&id=1131

then the urban court from 06
http://www.nba-live.com/download/pafile ... le&id=1094

and finally both together
http://www.nba-live.com/download/pafile ... le&id=1324

now lets say you want to play these 5v5

well all you need to know is this tutorial
http://www.nbaliveforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=44355

download what you want, then use the abbreviation list, and rename the first four letters to the court you want to replace. for instance "as90" would replace the all star 90s court.

now, as for the files you found, tandy is exactly the same as 06 I believe, I dont have 08 installed right now so I am not 100% on that. however that urban court you found [u]will not work[/i] in PC live 08. reason being because it is a mixture of xbox and ps2 files.

So again, I don't really know exactly what your main goal is in all of this, so if you want to try explaining it again, I'm sure its been done and that I could be able to help.

Wow ok thanks that helped alot I never knew that about converting 06 and 07 patches into live 08. Still angers me that i'll never be able to play 1v1 with two different courts. Yeah I plan to use your courts now to replace all the Arenas I don't use mainly the decade all star courts. One more thing does file renamer work with other things other than courts?

Thanks you've been alot of help man

it just renames files, so when you get pr0n or something, it will work on that too enjoy :D

how about your rucker park you made for 07 can I just put that in my game or do I need a file change for that because I plan for it to replace the 90s decade court

no need to convert anything, just rename the first 4 letters.

Can I create a person just from the DBF commander if I just create the appearence record for the character in the database instead of having to create a player in the game?

You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. I prefer to add any new players in-game and then modify attributes in the database as necessary.
