portraits player problem

i have made a portrait file and i did a transparent but when i made it a bmp format the transparent was deleted i mean it had a white backround
can somone explain that

bmp format doesn't support transparent.
Save it as png.

AND I I HAVE THIS PROBLEM I DON'T KNOW HOW I CAN REMOVE THE transparent .PLEASE HELP

i did that i saved it as png then i cant import it to fshx cause it had to be bmp or dds
