CPU comebacks??

Wed Feb 06, 2008 12:07 pm

whenever I have a lead for example by 20-30 points, and the CPU start making a small run then my players keep missing wide open layups and dunks until the CPU is within 8 points. Does anyone else have the same problem???

It's because of the "momentum meter".

Try scoring whatever happens.

I cant score thats the problem and the CPU hits every time they shoot. How can i stop them??? its stupid when i am playing with the Celtics and i cant win a game by 20+ point

You can try calling a timeout to stop the momentum. When the game is starting to go against you, it's usually a good idea to slow the game down and go into the post for a higher percentage attempt. If you panic and try to make up a deficit too quickly or get frustrated that will generally work to the CPU's advantage.

yeah i call a timeout every time but they but it doesn't do anything they still keep hitting jumpers and i keep on missing open layups.

Can any help???

You'll still need to swing the game in your favour, so it's usually best to slow the game down and pound the ball into the post for high percentage shots. When a team is on a run, if you panic and try to catch up too quickly with threes you'll generally shoot yourself out of the game. It's much better to chip away at the lead. Depending how much time is left in the game you might have to start to play with a bit more urgency but for the most part, keep your head and take low risk, high percentage shots.

At the defensive end, you can't afford to give up any easy shots. If you're not that good at defending the ballhandler, let a CPU teammate defend them while you control one of your bigs defending in the paint. A couple of stops (especially if they lead to fast breaks) will start to turn the tide.
