Online leagues on console ?

Hi mates,

I'm not a owner of any console, so forgive any stupid question...
I wonder if it is possible to generate an online league, so each team would be handled by a player, stats and rankings generated etc ??
I presume it could be possible on XboX Live, but what about PS3 ?

I have the same question about nba2K8, i know it's off-topic but if anyone knows....
