Release Date Thread

Sun May 06, 2007 7:04 pm

Since one date has already been mentioned for North America, I thought I'd start up the annual release date sticky thread. Please keep all discussion, speculation, questions and discoveries regarding release dates for NBA Live 08 in this thread. Please also note that information in this thread is subject to change as more details become available.

North America

Xbox 360/Playstation 3/Playstation 2/Nintendo Wii/Playstation Portable: October 2nd, 2007

PC: October 30th, 2007

.. can't believe the release date is too early. I hope they will bring us a good game. I think they should take their time or else releasing it in an early stage without finalizing and testing it will result a bad game like last year.

the PC version will be realse to?? :?:

whats the point when we have patchers here to take care of their busy work :P

Amen to that, Jao. By the way, are we going to say PLS RLS now?

So if they are going to release it that early, are they really sure of what they implemented on these platforms? I think last year, they weren't aware of the tons of bugs in the PC version.

Mon May 07, 2007 12:55 am

no they were, if they weren't aware of it we wouldn't have gotten the patch

Mon May 07, 2007 1:06 am

Wasn't the game released a week earlier last year?
Hopefully, one more week of development will make a world of difference...

After the patch petition was sent, I believe.

The UK release date iam guessing will be mid Oct then.

At this point, i'd like to remind you guys that the release date is set by the NBA marketing people not by EA. Brian Ullrich mentioned in one of his interveiws that they can negotiate a 3-4 week extention if they absolutly have to, but for the most part the date is etched in stone.

Euro version is usualy a month or two later. The main causes of this are localisation(different languages, changing feet to meters and pounds to kilograms, and whatever crap the german lawmakers have about video games this year)and shipping(by truck and boat no less, the packaged game doesn't just teleport from the middle of the us to pottsdam ya know).

Hey, when Live was good, it was coming out before the season... See Live 98,99, 2000, and 2001.

It's available to preorder on the official website and there's been no word that the PC version has been discontinued, so I'd say it's still safe to assume there'll be a PC version of NBA Live 08.

Is too early, sure that the draft is incomplete :( (N) But once again, this forum is the key to a very nice NBA 08 :D

I'm not against a later release either but it's no earlier than usual (in fact it's a bit later than last year) and as OFS said, the release dates are dictated by the NBA.

wasn't Oct 10th last years scheduled date?

either way, i'm happy for it to come out later so long as we get a good product, but we say that every year.

Tue May 08, 2007 7:31 pm

I hope that they will also release early here in the phillipines. 08 in the PC might be good

I thought they moved it up to late Sept to compete with NBA 2k7.

it is better to have the release date later but before the season starts.

Possibly, I only remember the September dates though. If October was ever mentioned, it was amended to September fairly early in the proceedings.

Ima wait for this one, coz I've skipped the nba live 07 coz of the bugs. Hoping it would be much better or lesser bug

Sat Jun 02, 2007 4:59 pm

I wish the game would come out like a week or two before the season would start. That way it wont get released to early and it would get you pumped for the upcoming season.

Sat Jun 02, 2007 7:36 pm

I wouldn't mind that, though it won't happen unless the NBA decides on a later release.

i hope they fix the pg bug I mean Jordan Farmar scoring anywhere from 30 to 50 points against my minnesota dynasty. a pg should only shoot alot is if he is not a pass first pg but if it a pg like kidd, nash, bibby, parker then no they shouldn't be taking 50 shots a game.

If Jordan Farmar scores that much, it's simply because you can't play defense, or your CPU shooting sliders are way too high.
