Installing Jersey on teamgear.dbf

Postby kb15 on Fri Feb 03, 2012 10:10 pm

Anyone help with this.. scenario is, i used the original teamgear.dbf (old one, default) file with my saved files so as to get rid of too much jerseys (so as to have only the main official away and home jerseys + alternate and retros) then what ive noticed was some teams didnt have the alternate jersey.. like for the orlando magics, it didnt have the black alternate jersey.. then i downloaded and installed the jersey patch for orlando on the download section, but then it installed 3 jerseys (specifically, i've got AWAY, HOME, RETROS + another AWAY, HOME & the ALTERNATE)... so my question is, how can i install a specific jersey and make it appear on the select jersey menu? like for example, just installing the alternate jersey of the orlando magics.

i noticed that the jersey patcher used the CDBFLITE.exe. i searched for softwares on the download section such as the DBCOMMANDER? because from its definition, it allows you to edit .dbf files (well uh, that's what i thought) but after installing  (WTH is this?) i dont know how to use such advanced softwares.. so is there a way? an EASY WAY of installing specific jerseys on the teamgear.dbf file.. please help and thanks in advance..

and please check my other thread.. you might be the person who could help me with it.. thanks

open DBCOMMANDER then go to your roster-TEAMGEAR.DBF and make a new line and enter this value: DELETED=false ID=enter the next available number TEAM=20(Magic) JERSEYTYPE= 2 (alt) SHORTTYPE and SHORTNUMBER = False SHPNAME = it depends, for example your alt jersey name orla12aw or orlaserb use the last four letter 12aw or serb. THAT'S IT!

Thanks for the reply guys, ive seen the wiki, i should've checked on that before posting.. anyway it works.. but i have another question.. does renaming jerseys causes the game to crash? i was trying to change the file name of a certain jersey (example: orla09al.viv ----> orlaserd.viv) and then changed the shpname in DBCOMMANDER, then after loading the file, the game crashes.. does renaming file causes the crash to happen or does it have something to do with necktype or nametype (my wild guess).. maybe you'll wonder howcome i said it works, what i did was i opened the teamgear.dbf file which has a lot of jerseys on the right side and copied the values from it.. im only working on the alternates.. and another thing, how do you save the file? all i do is i activated the "save setting on exit" lol.. anyway, its convenient that way.. thanks again..

You have to make sure the files inside the .viv files are renamed as well.

what file do you want to save? dbf? just click on the check mark on your dbcommander and exit. and if you want to rename the jersey use hex editor.

in an attempt to spare some team's alternate jerseys.. like with sacramento, from their original jerseys, they have that gold alternate jersey, and what i would like to do is add another alternate like the black (current alternate). problem is, they have the same filename "sacrserd.viv".. so i made a slot from dbcommander and was successful with that. then i renamed the .viv (sacrser1.viv --->this is the black alternate btw) file by simply renaming them (pressing F2) so it would not replace the other jersey and matched the SHPNAME in the DBCOMMANDER.. but again, game crashes.

ive also read this link http://www.nba-live.com/nbalivewiki/ind ... new_jersey and on the part where you export the files (using BigGUI) nothing shows up instead of the 5 files the author was saying.

again you have to rename not only the jersey name, like sacrserd to sacrser1 BUT also all the .fsh files inside the teamxxxx.viv

the simplest way to rename the jersey is to use hex editor, use search and replace all to rename all the .fsh files inside the .viv, you can also rename the fsh file one by one, use bigGUI then rebuild.

Hex editing is definitely the easier way to go.

Nope, sorry. If ever I have anything like that, I'll always make it available on the site. If someone else still has it then maybe they can upload it, otherwise you're out of luck.

HxD is a pretty reliable hex editor in my experience. You can Google it or search for it on download.com. Any hex editor will work, but HxD is the one I'd personally recommend.
