Question about Mods

Postby wardogs101 on Thu Jan 12, 2012 10:41 am

I'm really new to these mods like FIBAlive, PBAlive, NCAA March Madness and others... :) If I may ask how can I play multiple mods on one installed game ( NBAlive 08 ) without altering each mod. I really want to play the other mods. Can you help me out anyone? :? :)

There are a few methods being developed as you can see in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=111&t=84118

Another easy way is to simply makes copies of your NBA Live 08 folder and add one of the mods to each of the separate copies of the installation, then run the nbalive08.exe file in whichever folder has the mod you want to play.

The second suggestion is pretty cool. I'm figuring how the first one works though....Sir does it affect the NBA live 08 saves folder in My Documents or should I make separate copies for each mod as well?

The first one is going to affect your folder in your My Documents folder. That is the purpose.

Oh..I see, I think your topic pretty coincides with Sir Andrews :) Each copy, each exe and each My Documents folder..all you need is to rename each mod so as not to switch everytime..errr is that accurate? he he

You shouldn't have to rename anything with the mod, except make sure each copy of the NBA Live 08 program folder has its own name so they're separate copies of the game. You could then create shortcuts to the different nbalive08.exe files and give each shortcut a name based on the mod you're using with that copy of NBA Live 08.

The second method Andrew mentioned is pretty easy.If you are not comfortable doing the method i posted then i suggest not doing it.
One other thing i have to mention is that you should not mix patches together in one sgsm folder. It is a percentage that your game will crash if you do.

@Dc311 So installing a fresh copy mod free first is a must? Can I do that? Or can I install that to the D drive and launch it from there so as not to make complications with the one installed in my C drive which has an NLSC updated mod? Is that possible? :? I don't think so...right? :?

Install the game fresh, then make some copies of the game folder. You could copy it to another drive if you like.

The tips work like a charm. Thanks for sharing them :) Currently I have 3 mods in my PC, The NLSC mod, The Retro rosters mod and PBA live 11. I tried TUP 11 but it keeps crashing but I gotta tell you the art on that mod is awesome. I put some of them in the NLSC mod and it looks great as well and the aiact on that mod works on the others as well with no crashes. (Y) (Y) (Y)
