Basically, you've got two choices:
1. Try another game in the series that doesn't have as many flaws as NBA Live 08.
2. If you want to give NBA Live 08 a go, try out this sim engine fix.
Some other sim engine fixes have been posted before, you might want to run a search here in the NBA Live 08 section for the links.
