Controller Icons

Hello:

Is there anyway or is it possible to have the icons show up when you do the direct pass thingy. Its annoying to see all those words on the screen. I know there was a patch for 2k9 that brought up the 360 icons and whatnot. However, I have the recoil gamepad and is there away doing that. So when I do direct pass instead of seeing steal, it would show the number 3. Does this make sense?

It might be possible, though depending on how it could be achieved it might not work perfectly for all controllers or custom configurations.
