Editing Rookies in Players.dbf

I'm starting the second season in my franchise, and the rookies I got were reasonable, except for one flaw which has plagued, at least in my experience, all versions of Live, i.e. attributes sometimes seem to have been created by a monkey smashing his hands across the keyboard. This is specially true of the lower ranked rookies.

So I edited some stats, like lowering my 7'1" PF's 3pt ability from 74 to 1, because I wanted a post player. Now, this shows as updated in DB Commander (I did hit the check mark after each change), but after I load up the game again the old stats are showing up.

What am I doing wrong, if anything?

Every player on your team in dynasty has two lines in players.dbf file. The second one is at the bottom of the file. I'm not sure if that will help, but try editing also the second.
