black socks problems

i just install dennisthepiston's black sock patch but when i load my saved game where i installed it, my player got messed up. rondo and pierce's height and body increased(same size with obryant i think) and ray allen's body color is different from his legs which is white(scalabrine-like legs) please help..

The patch is probably not compatible with the roster you're using for your saved game. You should restore from a backup.

but i am using your roster.. the latest one you released last dec.23,2008. denisthepiston said that his patch is 100% compatible with that. oh well, truth hurts.

I wasn't aware of that, I didn't have a hand in the creation of the black socks update so I can't vouch for its compatibility myself. You could try replacing appearance.dbf with the original file that's included with the rosters.

help anyone.. i really want the black socks for away teams patch but i just cannot install it properly. whenever i do the installation, an error will occur and say

please help. does being a 2x or 1x of a file has to do with this?

No, that's simply a database error. Try deleting the files in your workingdb folder.

Yes, but rest assured that it will not affect your dynasty or game. Just resetting some data so that your black socks can been seen.

i just deleted my wordkingdb files but nothing happened. the error has occurred again. T_T i want that block socks so badly.

Did you edit the appearance.dbf file in any way? You might want to restore from a backup.

no, i did not do any sort of editing. i just downloaded the black sock patch and place its files(appearance.dbf and teamgear.dbf) in my roster. one time my roster loaded up but the player was messed up, their height and body increased/decreased from its original. T_T

yes, i did that already but nothing happened, it was still messed up.

Then I'm afraid your Dynasty game might be damaged beyond repair if you don't have a backup of it.

what do you mean sir andrew? is there a guaranteed for that?

No, there's no guarantee for data you damage yourself. It sounds to me like your Dynasty has been messed up beyond your repair, which leaves you no option except to restore from a backup (if you have one) or start over.

i made a new dynasty and install the black sock patch but the same happened. still got a messed up player and an error message.

Yes, because the problem is with the black socks patch. Don't replace the appearance.dbf file; that's what messed up your previous Dynasty.

does the currentdb, originaldb and workingdb i installed has something to do with the black patch thats why it isnt working with me?

No, I'd say there's some incompatibility with the databases includes in the black socks patch and the roster you're using. If the files were based on an older version of the roster, they're probably missing entries for players that have been added in subsequent versions of the roster. You may not be able to use the black socks patch with the roster you have.

are there any solutions? if there are no, well i guess i have to accept the fact that i cannot use that patch no matter what. i will just wait for someone to make a patch like that. i checked the release date of that black sock patch and it was last 2007. tnx sir andrew.

With it being outdated, no easy fix springs immediately to mind.
