completed editing but not showing in-game

i was editing players.dbf to lower the salary caps for my dynasty mode, and edited everything fine, i went to preferences and ticked the - save when exited option and exited as i was done editing. as i went into the game, nothing was changed, i tried to lower salaries of lebron james, dwight howard, etc for dynasty, so i restarted my dynasty and still no salaries were changed.

i also realised the hotspots didnt change, i changed rondo to have 70+ for all his hotspots yet the colours in the game are still blue.

i used db commander 2000 to edit

patches installed - NLSC NBA Live 08 Current Roster Update

any reason why the values arent changing?? help appreciated

p.s - this was my first time editing and the game didnt appear to crash, just values didnt change

Did you make sure you edited a saved roster or Dynasty? Don't edit anything in the database folders (currentdb, workingdb etc), you should always edit a save that you can then re-load.

oh... i didnt do that, so what should i edit if i wanted it just for dynasty mode? i just installed a fresh copy of nba live 08, so im gonna install the patch then i edit the player.dbf file in my dynasty folder or what?

edit - i realised i had to go and edit the players.dbf in the dynasty folder, everythings solved now
