NLSC Current Roster Update v2.0 Released...

With a new season, lots of new players and a fixed installation routine, I've decided to change the version numbering for the NBA Live 08 roster updates and begin by jumping up to v2.0. You can download the new roster here.

Key features of v2.0:
- 2008/2009 Season Rosters accurate as of October 12th, 2008
- Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
- Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution
- Player positions and data updated/corrected
- Cyberfaces and portraits for missing players
- East/West All-Stars Updated for All-Star Weekend 2008
- Rookie/Sophomore teams Updated for All-Star Weekend 2008
- Maek's Fatigue Fix
- Player Accessories Updated
- Contract & Salary Info Updated
- Seattle Supersonics changed to Oklahoma City Thunder
- Logos, courts and jerseys updated for the 2008/2009 season
- Fixed Installation Routine

Check out the support thread for additional release notes. NBA Live 07 players, be advised I'm currently in the process of converting the rosters for use with 07. That update will likely be out in a few days once I've fixed up a few things and made sure it's crash-free.

Well, you can only use one at a time but if you're talking about art updates, yes it should be. I'm not sure if Albys has used any different PLAYERPKG values for new players, if so I'd say they're in the minority. The NLSC update was made using the default aiact.viv though so I can't vouch for its compatibility with any custom aiact.viv files.

When it's ready and not a moment sooner. As I said, I'm now working on the 07 conversion which will take less time. I'll then convert it for use with 06, but I do not have a set date when that will be out. Keep checking the NBA Live PC section for the latest.

I just tested out the roster, it's great overall. Some jersey #'s are wrong as u said and default player ratings are still there (not screwed up ones like A.Tucker at 86) but Calderon should not stay at 70... As for the art work (cyberface)... Thank you for the updated roster anyways![/img]

As I said in the release notes (and many times before that), I do not focus on overall ratings as they are highly overrated and largely irrelevant when it comes to player performance. The individual ratings are far more important. As for the game still having default ratings, you are mistaken. Since the very first release last year, I have been updating player ratings. Some players still have the same (or similar) overall ratings but their individual ratings have been updated, which is far more important.

The graphics issue has nothing to do with the roster patch, it is likely being caused by another update you have installed. That doesn't happen when I test the rosters, so there's nothing for me to fix. It's not the rosters.

For any 07 players reading this thread, I started work on the conversion yesterday and as I hoped, it's a fairly swift process. Basically, I just have to update some shoes (I forgot to do that for the 08 update, I've already made a note to do it) and fix the Fatigue ratings so they're suitable for NBA Live 07 and then I can release it. Should only take a few days.

And for 06 players, that's good news as once I'm done with the conversion for 07 I'll move right along to 06. I'm expecting it to take a little longer but not too long.

First off wnated to say thanks for the release, your rosters are always great!!! One question, will you update the shoes cause it drives me nuts when I am playing the Rockets (for example) and their players have green shoes or purple shoes or some other crazy color. Anyways just wanted to know otherwise I got a lot of work ahead of me changing each players shoes. Again thanks for your hard work and dedication, now we can enjoy the fruits of your labor!!!

I'll certainly look at doing that, both for people who only want the rosters and some "update only" files that just contain the rosters and new artwork where necessary.

Definitely, I meant to do that for v2.0 but it slipped my mind. I've already done that ready for v2.0 of the 07 conversion and will do it for the next version of the 08 update and the 06 conversion.

andrew i wanted to know what is the diffrence between your roster patch and albys roster patch

Well, I'll let someone else be the judge of how each roster performs for them but one significant difference is that Albys' roster is more of a complete update artwise; the NLSC roster contains what I'd deem more crucial art updates (faces for missing players, new jerseys and logos), as opposed to Albys' update which contains a lot more art patches. I'm not sure if he uses an aiact.viv update.

If the art is the only concern though then the NLSC roster can use the same art if you've already installed Albys' rosters. I can't speak for the NLSC update's compatibility with various aiact.viv updates though as I used the default file when creating the rosters.
