DBF editing problem.

Postby BigGameJames on Fri Aug 22, 2008 8:22 am

I tried DBF editing my roster to make it current and now players like Devan George and Michael Finley are Centers and seem to be in the Power Forward position in the starting lineup, what the heck? Is it because there is no room on their roster or what?? When I checked their ROSTERPOS it was set at 0. Thanks.

The problem is that their ROSTERPOS value is set to 0, which is the starting centre slot. No one on the same team can share the same ROSTERPOS value, each player needs their own unique value between 0 (starting centre) and 14 (IR #3).

what if the team has more than 14 players? For instance the Spurs have like 18 players on their roster right now, I looked up their roster on NBA.com.

The game only supports 15 player rosters. You'll need to make a choice and leave some of those players in the Free Agent pool.

I am able to have more than 14 players on a roster. The IL numbers just go higher than 3. I've made up to 20 players on a roster. Can't guarantee that it will work for everybody.

Have you experienced any problems with that? I was under the impression the game crashes if there's more than 15 players on the roster, though I haven't actually tried doing that in NBA Live 08.

Anybody know if this works? I tend to side with Andrew so I think I'll keep my rosters at 15.

You can give it a try. If it doesn't work, you can always move the players back to the Free Agent pool and reset their ROSTERPOS to 0.
