how come i have this rookie in my dynasty rated 86 ovrl drafted 2nd ovrl in 2009 by the Knicks and he has a PORTRAIT?? of all rookies he's the only one who has a portrait and the rest don't..most of them have shiny heads.. i'm using 1.06 btw..

I'm not sure, the patch doesn't control or modify anything to do with generated rookies.

i was surprised to see him on the players of the month screen.. weird.. is there even an NBA player named like that?

off-topic: is there any way to fix the rookies' shiny heads?

I really don't know how it happened. One of those weird quirks, perhaps sifting through the .vivs would shed some light on it.

You'd need to update those generic faces to eliminate the ones with the shiny heads.

You'd need to edit the generic face files and make sure they all have an alpha. You can find more info on that in the cyberface tutorials.
