The Stephen A. Smith Project II

Postby NY Project on Mon Jun 02, 2008 4:28 pm

I'm browsing around the web, and I come across the 2K8 forum. Granted, I don't have the game, but I look through it anyways and find an interesting topic. http://2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=174231

For those that just want a short summary.[quote]Many of us who watch ESPN or listen to ESPN Radio know of Stephen A. Smith and all of us who know Stephen A. Smith know he's a diehard Knicks fan. However, the man has gone on endless rant about how bad the Knicks are (and a rightfully so) to the point that he has said that the Knicks should get rid of everyone... literally, everyone.

I boot up my 360, pick the Knicks for my Dynasty team, and trade everybody, well, almost, and sim through the whole year. I finished with a dismal record of 15-67, and as I pressed the button to enter the Draft Lottery, I get this message that says I've been fired. Surprised, I quit Dynasty Mode and reloaded it, but still got the same message 4 times in a row. At this point I was like, "You know what, screw this." and decided to start another Knicks dynasty. After about 45 minutes, I had successfully gotten rid of every Knick, and had assembled a hald decent team along the way with 8 million under the cap.

List of trades I had to do:

Zach Randolph to New Orleans for David West and Bonzi Wells

Bonzi Wells, Renaldo Balkman, and David Lee to Houston for Rafer Alston and Chuck Hayes

Quentin Richardson to Houston for Shane Battier

Fred Jones to Philidelphia for Calvin Booth

Nate Robinson to Sacramento for Quincy Douby

Randolph Morris to New Jersey for Josh Boone

Jared Jeffries to Los Angelas Lakers for Luke Walton

Eddy Curry and Jerome James to Memphis for Kwame Brown

Mardy Collins to Sacramento for Beno Udrih

Stephon Marbury to Philidelphia for Andre Miller

Jamal Crawford to Philidelphia for Jason Smith

Malik Rose to Charlotte for Ryan Hollins

In addition, I also made some other personel moves to try and stabilize my team.
Signed Gary Payton to a 1 year deal

Traded Andre Miller to Milwaukee for Desmond Mason and a 2nd Round Pick

Traded Rafer Alston to Indiana for Marquis Daniels

For those of you who haven't been following, here's my line up:

C Kwame Brown 69
PF David West 79
SF Shane Battier 74
SG Desmond Mason 72
PG Gary Payton 69
6th Luke Walton 69
7th Marquis Daniels 69
8th Jason Smith 67
9th Beno Udrih 65
10th Quincy Douby 64
11th Chuck Hayes 61
12th Josh Boone 58
13th Ryan Hollins 59
14th Calvin Booth 61

So you're probably wondering why I posted this. The thing is, I'm a bit stuck. I'm currently 3-8 on the season, good for LAST in the East. And another thing is that I could use some ideas to aquire more expiring contracts without losing too much talent so I can have a run at free agents next year. Well, if you've made it this far, I'd like to say thanks for reading this, and hopefully you can help me with my New York Knicks Dynasty!

Oh, 1st post! :D

Edit: Went on a 7 game winning streak before the All-star Break, and won 9 out of 10 overall in that stretch. Currently holding on to the 8th spot in the East.

Edit2: Record is at 28-38, surpisingly, I'm only 2.5 games out of the playoffs yet I'm the 13th team in the East. Been training Josh Boone on offense and athletics.

Edit3: Record stands at 32-48, officially out of the playoffs.

Edit4: Recieved the 6th pick in the draft, 2 lower than best case senario.

Edit5: Picked up 2 good players from the draft, a point gaurd who I decided to build my team around and a small forward. Signed Ben Gordon.
