Can't figure out the star

Hey, i've been playing 08 for months now and I still don't understand the star icon. I know it was mentioned in a previosu thread that gold means they were superstars in 07 and I remember we can trigger that. But rihgtn ow in 08 I don't know how to trigger it. It happens randomly like for example when I use Ben Gordon and have him shoot, he will sometimes randomly activate that star, his icon would flash and would shoot differently while other times no. Also happens randomly on layups as well, when he would sometimes do something special and the player icon would flash, but other times a regular layup.

Is there a way to activate this or do I just have to move the player in a certain way? Thanks!

yes, a question that also has been pondering my thoughts as well...

I always figured that when a player was really on top of their game, playing well, the star would come up, but that was just what i always assumed.

Those moves will be triggered automatically when the player is in the right area.

is it posted anywhere where these locations are for certain players? or in the game where I can see it like the hot spots diagram?
