1 means one, 2 means two, 3 means three, 4 means four ;) I'm kidding it means how many players are in which part of the court in the certaint time, I think... correct me if I'm wrong, I would appreciate that ;)

So ..
You know what Pick and Roll is.

Isolation is one option, it isolates a player and it creates an 1 on 1 situation, cause all your guys move out the way and draw their defenders with them.

At Post Up simply one of your bigs is posting up in the low-post and wants the ball.

What's the fourth? I think it's also a kinda pick and roll play.

At defense, there's the Half Court Man-to-Man, which is the basic defense most of the time. Every player guards his guy but only in their own half of the court.

Full Court Man-to-Man is the same as above, but your guys will guard their assignments more aggressive and over the whole court.

There's also a 2-3 Zone Defense which is an alternative to man-to-man. The players are assigned to a certain area to cover, instead of guarding a specific player.

At Double Team, an additional player will help you and double the guy you're defending and try to force a turnover.
