Turn-Overs

Postby CEEPEE---3 on Mon Mar 24, 2008 6:11 pm

I am a die hard fan of Chris Paul. He leads the NBA in Assists & Steals this season. I am also playing the Hornets in a Dynasty. I love his (CP3) defensive skills but the problem is stealing the ball. Whenever the ball is tapped out of bounds, it is always recorded as turn-over, which in the actual game it isn't. CP3 in my Dynasty is averaging 12 TOs a game...way way unrealistic. Can you please create a patch adressing this problem? It really annoys me seeing my MVP's (32.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 19.6 apg, 6.4 spg, 0.86 bpg) averages spoiled by 12.3 TURN-OVERS a game...

Thanks and more power...

Well, i think when you put the ball out of bounds, it will always result to a turn-over i think. His stat there you posted on him is also unrealistic to me 19 apg? and 6.4 spg?. Maybe because you play on an easy diffulty why you get those stats. About the turn-overs maybe because you are not that good in taking care of the ball that's why you are getting out of bounds always?

End of any racist discussion.

yeah, I have that same problem... Whenever I try to steal ball with kobe he taps it and if nobody gets it- it goes out of bounds and a turnover recorded to his stats... BTW Scot Skilles Had 15.1 assists a game one season ;) and whats unrealistic with steals? In my dynasty bryant averaging 4 steals a game ;)

Maybe the fact that in real life Chris Paul (leader in steals this season) averages 2.7 steals per game?

4 is unrealistic, don't alluding about 6.4.

But you asked what's unrealistic in Paul's 6.4 spg in his dynasty, so I told you.

So you guys don't believe of 6.4 spg. It is so because I use a stifling Full Court Press at inbounds. Try it and you'll see. Also, play 12 min a quarter sothat your players will get a lot of playing time.

Just a trivia. When I played against the Kings, CP3 had a carrer high 14 steals (11 at the half). Thanks to Udrih and Johnson's poor ball handling...or I guess just credit it to CP3's defense.

And thank you guys for your reactions. Reading them is a nice way to start a day.

No, I didn't say I don't believe you that you have 6.4 spg with Paul. I also had over 6 spg with Iverson in my Live 07 dynasty. I just said it isn't realistic comparing to real life.

Unfortunately, that's a problem we can't fix. Deflections shouldn't count as turnovers but it's a known bug that we can't do much about except keep reporting to the developers.

haha, you are playing unrealistic basketball by waiting the inbounder to jus throw it to you  that is one more bug in live 08 and I dont do that.. I usually try to steal the ball after uncarefull pass or trying to tap it ;)

If you've got two players pressuring in the backcourt, your best bet is to cause the deflection with one player and let your teammate grab it (or switch to him and scoop up the loose ball). However, it's often easier said than done and thanks to the stats bug, still results in a lot of turnovers being registered on the deflections going out of bounds.
