Car-My-Ello Anthony?

Postby nextgrext on Sun Mar 23, 2008 5:36 am

Does anyone, ANYONE! know how to trade for Carmelo Anthony? I think it's literally impossible...

I'm the Minnesota Timberwolves and i have Original (start of 08) rosters. I am willing to give up anything and everything to get Anthony on the T-Wolves. If anyone can help me i will worship you forever :) but not in a creepy kind of way...PLZ somebody help!

My ideas were:
-Denver needs a better SG
-Jefferson is better than Martin (that may be good for me)
-Jefferson has a low enough salary
-Anthony is only making 4.?? (something) so i need to get good players making next to no money
-I can change Davis into a SG but he's making a bit to much money.

Trades ideas:
To Denver: Jefferson 77 (PF), Foye 76 (SG), _________ ?? (??), 1st Rounder
To Minnesota: Carmelo Anthony 86 (SF)

If someone can help it would be greatly apreciated :)

Sincerely, Nextgrext.

If you're really stuck, you might want to check out this guide but it might not be a satisfying as getting the job done legitimately. ;)

Well if you dont want to cheat then you might wanna read this stuff

Guide to trading

Its a really long read i think, but it might help you. My own suggestion in order to get Melo is not to trade role player on your team cause if you get Anthony who will be your backup? You might wanna see first his salary then try to match it and his rating as well, 3 players might work, Davis,Telfair and maybe Blount may work since you use the original roster BTW. Hope i help

End of any racist discussion.

'Melo

Postby rdelizo35 on Sat May 10, 2008 5:32 am

I just think it depends on the cap level and the interest level of Carmelo's team. I'm the Lakers and I got 'Melo on three 70 level players. Of course, I fantasy drafted my team.

My advice is if you don't wanna do the DBF editing thing, then try trading or set T'Wolves to the No. 1 pick slot in fantasy draft when you start your dynasty and draft 'Melo with your first pick and try building your team around him.

Haha, there is nothing quite as satisfying as robbing an AI team blind with legitimate trading.

It is hard to hand out trade advice, if you can't see the entire scenario. You can try though sending older players to teams with large cap room in exchange for better rated (young) players, then with the cap room that you have, sign more free agents. Then you'll have more resources to trade for Melo. It would be perfectly fine if you end up with only a 12 man roster, injuries in NBA live never reach up to two major injuries. So at worst you'll only end up with 10 playable team members in any game, just rest a player if he has a minor injury. Then wait for the off season to get rookies and minimum salaried free agents.

To build a real winner though, I think prioritize on grabbing a great sg then a good pg then an ok c, because the sf and pf spot is easier to fill through draft and free agency.
YEAH BOY!

When you're trying to trade for a star player the team's record also comes into play. I've usually found that teams are much less willing to give up their top players when they're winning unless the offer is in their favour (ie the overall ratings of the players you're offering total more than what you're getting in return) and even then they might flat out refuse to make the deal. A team that's losing is usually more willing to shake things up.
