who is your favorite rookie in this game

Postby Cleveland wins on Mon Oct 08, 2007 11:06 am

This is for simulation and not actual game play. But my favorite rookie would have to be josh mcroberts, sometimes i do a fantasy draft and i would pick someone elese first and then i would look for the power forwards and go through all of them and almost every fantasy draft josh mcroberts is almost always a first rounder. He's almost always gone in the first round, but i also love oden but he just can't score in simulation just yet. But when i played with him one time, i kept dishing it to him inside and he scored over 20 points. But as far as simulation he's not that good yet. But during simulation, i have a question, why is defense down this year? Has anybody gotten 8 or 9 steals and 6 blocks or something when you simulate? I barely get 1 steal and 2 blocks a game when simming. I'm just amazed at the scoring that mcroberts does, someone should do a portland dynasty which i am currently doing with one of my saved games and you'll see that he'll get you over 20 points a game, at least most of the time.

Brewer and Durant. Maybe I'll do a Sonics/Wolves dynasty and trade in the other..

You should hate that a random second round scrub is a superstar in EA's mind, not love it...

Wilson Chandler - created player - 67 overall rating

Good defence, runs the floor well.

Fav EA created rookie - Al Horford - plays well at both ends of the court.

Oden is a beast, in my Portland dynasty, agter I traded for Hinrich. Only problem is, eventhough I got him to 81 overall until his rookie season ended, he was back at 79 when I started my next season. I simulated another season, and he did't progress any. Note that I have downloaded the rosters that I found in this site. Anybody knows how do I tinker with his file in order to atleast make him have show some progress every year?

I found it: you edit "Destiny" value in Players.dbf and you are fine to go. 1 is I think the max value for "Upside" players (Albridge and Felton had 1), but older, proven guys get higher stats. Deron had I think a 2 or a 3, AI had 4 or 5. oden and every other Rookie had 6, so I edited it to 1,2,3 and a few 4, according to how I see them faring

Daequan Cook has been great for my Heat Dynasty, I usually play him on point guard position and he is a good scorer and defender, he is currently averaging 16pts, 4rebs, 8 asts, and 3 stls for me on 7 minute quarters. I play every game and he comes off the bench behind JWill but that's only because I can't reorder the roster!!! He is rated 84.
Play On.

well i haven't got to play a whole lot with Oden although when I did play I really enjoyed his defense his shotblocking skills but the player that I've really enjoyed playing in this game has got to be Corey Brewer. I drain three's with him, I get rebounds, assists, steals and he plays some hard nosed defense for me. I am really super with him off the bench but he can sometimes start and score around 20 points for me. Kevin Durant is another player that I've played pretty well with. He can score alot and I even had a Lakers season and here is my starting five

C- Lamarcus Aldridge
PF- Raef Lafrentz
SF- Kevin Durant
SG- Kobe Bryant
PG- Derek Fisher

6th man- Corey Brewer
other bench
C- Andrew Bynum
PF- Robert Horry
SF- Jason Kapono
SG- Kareem Rush
PG- Tyronn Lue
PF- Paul Davis
PG- Acie Law

for dynasty I decided to do a 76ers dyansty and i really haven't had a rookie that has done great for me although Jason Smith was one of my top defensive players of the year

i went the sonics i played all 82 games of the season on All Star difficulty i went 74-8 for the season i even won every game up till the championship with a rookie lineup i got roster update from this site my 5 was

C-Greg Oden
PF-Joakim Noah
SF-Jeff Green
SG-Kevin Durant
PG-JamesOn Curry

Bench:
SF-Wilson chandler
SG-Dequan Cook

the rest are just good solid FAs i signed. So i played al the games 6min quarters and my main scorer was curry he averaged 23ppg 9ast 5stl but 0rpg i looked it over i never got a rebound with him even if i tried he just couldnt rebound. All in all he is my fav rookie on the game

If Oden is not injured then I'll choose him but since he is injured, I'll take Horford(for rebounds and blocks) or Durant( for points and steals)

Al horford is the best. In my starting lineup for lakers I have L. James, Bosh, Wade, and C Pual. Alhorford is my center with a rating of 85 and he is averaging 15 pts and 14 rebounds.
