Announcer Speech system

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so if it not - please forgive me.

I was amazed from the Announcer speech system in NBA 2k7. they devided the first name and last name. So, in case you want to create player like "Michael Jordan" or "Charles Barkley" or "Jerry West" it is very easy. You have a lot of First names in the Database and a lot of Last names.

you can create endless combinations - "Mark Price", "Ron Harper", "horace Grant", "Kenny Smith", "Kevin Johnson" and much more. I think that this is really smart and I don't think that it's breaks license issues. When the announcer says the name it looks natural.

I think that EA need to change their speech system to this kind. I hope that they looked on 2k7 and will make this change in Live 08.

Live had that years ago, but they took it out. . Typical of NBA Live!! Live also had it better than 2k cause 2k's sounds too choppy at times

I don't remember this feature. Maybe on EA old versions the announcer called the last name.
I think that this is so simple for EA, Just create a large DB of first names and last names. and have a code that combines them together. It will be very helpfull for creating a player and hearing his full name.

Hmmm...that's interesting. I thought I read an article on a "common name system", where the most common first and last names of players are stored, so generated rosters will have actual names rather than numbers in the game. I thought it was a new feature for Live 07 or 08. But since I read it a while ago, I probably have the details messed up....yeah, it was probably an article for 2K7. Would be interesting to see EA implement it though--in my seventh year 06 dynasty, 80% of the announcements I hear are numbers.
