On D-Wade's stepback, the ball curved :/

I like 08 so far from what I've seen though :)

Thanks for the update JaoSming.

By the way, I also like the music that they had while showing the EA Sports logo. Sounds good.

so now it's like signature superstar freestyle moves. nothing new here imo.

they didn't show much footage of it, so from what ive seen it could go either way here.

Nice find (y)

The new animation system that they talked about in the blog seems to be working pretty well. Look at the transition between Kobe's dribble and fadeaway; very smooth (though a bit slow).
And I like how they are doing GoTo moves. Hopefully that’ll completely get rid of FSS..

The video also seems to confirm the release date (October 2nd).

Yeah, it seems like EA comes up every year with new "revolutionary" names for stuff that they've already implemented the previous year(s)...
I like the concept, but it doesn't look much different from sig shots+freestyle moves, and of course PC gamers will never get to enjoy these...

I want to play live next gen, but that's the only game I'd really play and it's not worth $300 for an xbox :\

I really hope pc is next-gen, but it won't happen this year, maybe it wont happen ever :(

I really would like them to make it a little harder to penetrate to the basket, because it's too easy in live 07, 2k7 is much better in that regard and almost all other regards ;)

Well, it is new in the sense that there is no special button for this or anything; it all relies on the spot you are in, the player, and the situation. So the good thing about it is that you don't just chose to do it whenever you want, which cancels out 50 point averages and unstoppable shots. I've been interested in NBA live since 2003 and this is looking pretty good this year. I just might get it, if they keep showing these improvements.

I know we've all bit let down so many times by these guys that we've lost count. Still though, I really like what I'm hearing. I don't want to believe them but everything I've read indicates that finally Live is trending up instead of dead in the water. Also, I just got an Xbox so I can finally move into "new gen", can't wait.

I'm not EA lackey but in my opinion they seem to be making the right improvements. Ofcourse once they miss a huge bug like no subs I'm sure I'll be spitting on them again.

I'm interested to see how this will pan out. If the moves aren't unstoppable and are true signature moves that can only be performed by the specific player then it's a nice little detail. The removal of Freestyle moves is also noteworthy. The "hot zones" feature seems similar to the SCOREAREA attribute utilised in previous games though one could assume it will become a more prominent aspect of gameplay.

To be honest, the labels don't worry me. At the end of the day they need to market the game and summing up certain features under an umbrella term is to be expected. What really matters is if those features get the job done; if they do, it doesn't really matter what they're called.

Interesting Vids. . .This is better than Freestyle control!!! And the Jumpshots looks good but they are in slow motion!! Hopefully we can see these in a real time Video!!! But I like what I see so far . . .They still need to work on post moves in Live Even if it's just 10 moves, have something

I don't like it.
That means Kobe and Wade will score 40 points every game, the go-to guy will be the unstopable guy, (N) they will create space eveytime and baaam !! basket-after-basket

Didn't they say that it would be based on the situation and not on a special button? So if they can get the AI to recognize the situation (whether you control the player or not), then the go-to moves shouldn't be used every time the star shoots.

By the way, I love the jerseys, and Paul Pierce looks pretty good, but not the other player models.

So how does that make the game unrealistic? lol, We don't know if it's gonna be dominant or not!!! I think it's good to have it in because it separates superstars from regular players differently from the Freestyle Superstar!!!

From the advertised features that have come with previous versions, it probably will be overpowering and abusable. Let's hope they have finally learned their lesson on making these things overpowering because they want us to use it and like it.

Good eye. That's something that needs to be brought to the developers attention, imo. In 06 and 07, when you use a freestyle superstar move the defense rarely jumps to block you.

We should all realize that EA will never focus on "5-5" basketball,
they just need something to promote their game,
so every year they create something.

The only difference this time is EA knows we know that,
so they emphasize that these "Go-to moves" won't be abused,

but trust me, as long as it's in the game and it's powerful,
it will be abused, people will always find the way to abuse those moves.

Can't they just focus on removing bugs and improve their game?
Stop adding anything new! We've all know what's going to happen!
It happened for over 5 years!

However, I would rather see Kobe, Wade and Dirk drop 60 on me than Smush Parker, J-will and Terry.
I am looking forward to the day that NBA Live would become playable again...
