I won't be expecting the greatest Live ever, but I will be expecting a minimal amount technical bugs and improved gameplay. If all they did was update rosters and graphics, fix the shoe bug, fix the pg coast to coast driving issue, improve the simulation engine, and make jerseys 512x512 again, I will be a happy camper.

I agree, but I also think that a company like EA has the means to do more than that, that they could implement changes that should have been made one or two years ago. Obviously, it'd be nice to have the bugs, various AI issues and other nonsense fixed, but I don't think it's unfair to expect new stuff as well for the current-gen, including features that could be available for faster machines, like better physics, more immersive visuals, etc...And of course the sig shots that were promised to us...

While I lost a lot of hope this year from EA, pdub is right, can it really get any worse? At least know the company itself acknowledges that it has to bring up a decent game, since they've already lost lots of credibility. I don't need much myself either, just a fun and realistic bball game, and I can't see a reason why EA would want to make a half-baked product again, since 07 was such a flop. It's a battle for money, it's a business, and in order for EA to keep up, it has to bring it this year.

The only big ass gripe that I have about NBA Live in the recent years has been the horrible user interface... The frikkin UI killed all the cool new features that were made for 07 Dynasty mode. The features were sweet and cool and all that, but the UI rendered them next to unusable... If the consoles can't handle anything else, then it's a sad day for us PC users, cause with the PC you can sure make a UI that really actually works and you don't have to do gazillion clicks to see some rumors and then another gazillion clicks back to get to the calendar view.

The terrible UI has been killing these games for years... With all the added stuff for Dynasty these issues will only become more and more clear to us end users... Since we have to deal with the UI more than before.

Don't get me wrong, the 07 release was extremely buggy as it was buggy enough for EA to deliver us a patch that almost fixed the most glaring issue of player substitution, it started work for everyone else except the Shooting Guard. And there were enough other issues as well, but these things come and go... I certainly don't expect to see these same issues in 08... 06 didn't have them, why would 08 have the problems of 07.

To be totally honest, 07 was actually a game that featured good stuff too and fixing the bugs and adding some small stuff on top of that and polishing the graphics a bit more, would probably be enough. So I am hopeful for 08... Since I'm a PC gamer all the way, that's what I have to be. Since there are no options for NBA basket ball on the PC.

Keep the faith... It's damn hard after 07, but I still got that lingering hopeful feeling about 08.

I agree with the UI on PC...

I would like to see a differnt UI for PC... one that utilizes mouseover Menus...

You might have a bunch of tabs on the top of the screen... like Administration (Then you put youre mouse over it, and then a list comes down, saying Assistant Coach, Assistants, Scouts, etc etc), and then say you mouseover the Assistant Coach, then a menu comes up to the right (or left depending on which side of the screen it is on) with... say, Rumors, Player Happiness, etc etc.

Basically to get to the trade screen, or the lineup screen, or to scout the next draft class, you just need to move the mouse a few times and then click once...

here are some things I wish they would add to what they currently have

1) the PG bascially shooting most of the time (unless of course it is a point guard who does act like that)

2) Save in the middle of a game

3) multiplayer dynasty

4) too many undersized players in drafts especially 6'1 6'2 and 6'3 SG) once in a while is ok but not a lot in one draft maybe every five seasons you might see a 6'2"SG )

5) list of strengths and weaknesses on each player in draft

6) a cool feature I thought of for only dynasty a list of the draft picks from 2007 to current year you are on

7) Expansion Mode (either season or dynasty mode) adding up to six teams in the NBA for a list of cities in the usa and can pick the colors for away and home jerseys

8) play of the day/week/month/season

9) have announcers say first and last name of rookies in dynasty draft (for example starting at the power forward number 46 Roger Gordon

10) in espn mock draft list first and last name of player and not just the first letter of the player first name

11) have announcer talk about the stars of the game for each team or who is even an xfactor in the game

12) go back to the old way of shooting free throws i didn't like that they changed it to like NBA 2K series)

13) show half time highlights and even show cheerleaders

14) have the home crowd get more hyped or even the fans leave the stadium

15) fire and hire coaches

16) trading block ( so you can trade for future draft picks or a certain type of player)

17) add mini games that you can play ( horse, around the world, own the court and nickels and dimes)

18) trade picks on draft night (and have a much more draft advancement or have where you can simulate it)

19) put daily scores in a news paper form for example Paul Pierce scores 42 in a celtics win over the bulls 110-105

20) have a dominant center in the draft once every 7-10 who plays like Shaq or Yao Ming

21) Have in offseason 1 on 1 2 on 2, 3on 3, 5on5 and shooting around

March Madness 06 was horrible and MM 07 was even worse so dont put it past them.

I'm 100% going to buy the PC version of 08 but for the 360 I'm going to wait for Reviews, User Impressions and a Demo before I buy it.

An experienced programmer who spent two days could design the UI. He wouldn't be writing the functions of what is behind the UI.

Analogy: He is painting the walls and putting in the doors (redesigning the UI), not building the walls and laying the foundation (adding the functionality, ie making after using the ui to go to the scout screen, actually making the scout go out and scout), or putting the furnature into the room (the graphics design of the UI... ie all of the nifty little graphics and 3d transitions).

All the UI is is a transition between one part of the game to another.


Edit: And you're the guy who surmised that EA will make two versions of NBA Live for the PC and that all powerful and fast computers run Vista.

STFU and quit before you dig yourself a deeper hole.

Sorry, what was the question........I just hope that EA realized they lost alot of cred and they go about repairing it. New features or not, just fix old issues that have been dogging around forever and test the f@#ker until they are happy with it and are confident in putting their 'it's in the game' moniker on it.
