!!!OPENING NIGHT!!!
October 30th
INSIDE THE LEAGUE
-Trailblazers waive Ronnie Price(PG), sign Gilbert Arenas[3yr(Team-Option)/3.32M]
-Evan Turner bruises ribs during one on one drills and is reported to have his minutes reduced over the next two weeks.
-Entering the last year of his contract, when asked, how he felt about the potential of being traded, Josh Smith responded with, "I like the possibilities"...

Chris Webber's Opinion
When it comes to Gilbert Arenas, I'm not so sure. I know the 'Blazers were looking for somebody who could mentor Lillard and score off the bench, something we all know Arenas can do, but as a role model there might be issues. Ever since he was traded from the Wizards his overall game has suffered and so has his teammate grade. I just hope he can make good use of this opportunity and not disappoint the passionate fans in Portland....
FEATURED GAME

What better way to start off the season, than with a classic showdown between Dirk "The Dagger" And "The Black Mamba" himself?
Unfortunately out off of the thrillers we've seen when these Western Elites compete, this is one Dirk may want to forget...
The first half of the game was incredible, with 15 lead changes, filled with back and forth buckets. The usual battle of scoring emerged between Dirk and Kobe who ended the night with 34 and 42 respectively!!! And if this was last year's Lakers, then the fourth quarter would've turned into a familiar fight,
but not this season..
Dwight Howard's excellent game(17PTS and 14REB), paired with a solid performance from Nash, and a lackluster Dallas bench, ultimately broke this game wide open at the start of the fourth, where the Lakers went on to win 122-93!!!
If this is any indication of what kind of numbers we'll be seeing from the Lakers this year, then maybe Mark Cuban was right to call them, "Showtime 2.0".
Only time will tell ...
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Anderson Varajao 28PTS 13REB
Lebron James 34PTS 8REB 10AST
MORE 2 B DESIRED?
In tonight's game against the Heat, Rajan Rondo and Paul Pierce combined for 7-25 shooting in a disappointing turnout offensively.....

I
completely agree, but his offense off the bench might make him worthwhile
