Nice to see you perform much better than the RL Rockets. Man Josh Smith has been dropping triple-doubles left and right. (Y)

Dallas has been a surprise though. It will be interesting to see how Dwight fares against you guys.

Two of the biggest free agents this summer have led their team to the conference finals.

Howard and Dirk invisible in game #1 as Mavericks get crushed by 26.

Recap | Box Score | Highlights Image

MVP: James Harden had a very efficient night, before taking an early seat on the bench in fourth quarter with his side up by 28. He had 24 points and 5 assists on 8-12 shooting in 28 minutes.

LVP: Dirk Nowitzki and Dwight Howard. Dwight had 9 points and 6 boards and Dirk had 4 points and 3 rebounds. This isn't what the team was expecting when the two joined forces this summer.

X-Factor: Monta Ellis was the only player on the Mavericks to have any impact on the game as he went for 30 points on 12-19 shooting.

That was.. one-sided : The Rockets dominated the Mavericks in almost every category. Shooting percentage (51% to 42%), 3PT shooting (43% to 27%), rebounding (49 to 37), assists (28 to 18), points in the paint (64 to 34), turnovers (3 to 14) and fast break points (21 to 6).

Glad to see your acquisition of J-Smoove is paying off more than it did for Detroit IRL. Dallas has had an interesting run to the conference finals but I think that's coming to an end. Good luck!

Recap | Box Score | Highlights Image

MVP: Monta Ellis lit up Houston in game #2. After 30 points in game #1, the summer acquisition had 41 in game #2 on 15-22 shooting which included 6-7 from beyond the arc. 31 points came in the second half alone, when the Mavericks out-scored the home team by 15 points. That was.. decided in the third : The Rockets held a double-digit lead for most of the first half, but went cold in the third. Mavericks out-scored them 30-16 in the period behind 63% shooting. For some reason, the CPU never goes to Dirk. He gets like 5-6 touches a game while Harris just goes off, he was 1-10 in the first quarter. :?

Smith dominated the defensive player of the year with his first triple-double of the series.

Mavericks tie things up behind 41 points from Ellis.

Recap | Box Score | Highlights Image

MVP: After a few games without a triple-double, Josh Smith was back on form with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Rockets to a blow-out win over the Mavericks in game #3. Smith collected his tenth rebounds early in the fourth when the Rockets were up by 28 points. The starters would take a seat shortly after that.

LVP: After averaging 35.5 points in the first two games, Monta Ellis struggled as he hit just 6 of his 19 shots for 16 points. He also had 6 turnovers.

X-Factor: Gerald Green scored 17 points in the second quarter and 19 in the first half. He matched the total of the Mavericks in the second period while the Rockets piled up 35.

That was.. Mavericks needing the DPOY : The Rockets had 72 points in the paint and out-rebounded the Mavericks 42-36. Where's the defensive player of the year that is Dwight?

J-Smoove has put up some nice numbers for you, especially with all the assists. You have 7 or 8 pretty consistent guys in your rotation.

Also, lol at Jenkins. How does that even happen?

My playoff rotation is down to 8 players. Sanders-Smith-Parsons-Harden-Lin and Beverley-Green-Noel off the bench. all bench guys play around 30 minutes, I've been cutting minutes from Lin and Sanders as Noel and Beverley often make a bigger impact, especially Patrick, his defense is ridiculous.

Not sure what happened with Jenkins, as he made his first three-pointer.. The second, not so much.

Lin was very aggressive.

Rockets jump out to early lead, cruise to game #4 win

Recap | Box Score | Highlights Image

MVP: Jeremy Lin has often been out-shadowed by his back-up Patrick Beverley, who has been regarded as the best defensive player in this series with his amazing on-ball defense. But Lin was aggressive from the get-go, racking up 15 points in the first half, as well as rebounding, dishing the ball and playing good defense. He finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds and as many assists in just 24 minutes of action.

LVP: Dwight Howard and Dirk Nowitzki. The duo that has been dominant throughout the Playoffs have vanished against Houston. They combined for 8 points on 3-12 shooting.

X-Factor: The Mavericks turned the ball over 22 times which led to 24 fast break points and 31 points off turnovers for the Rockets. The Mavs got only 9 points off turnovers.

Heat return to Finals after sweeping Nets

The Miami Heat have made the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year and are looking for their third consecutive title. They swept the Brooklyn Nets in 4 games.

Miami beat Detroit in the first round in 6 games, the Knicks in 5 games in the second round and now the Nets in a sweep. The Big Three has played amazingly and the Heat have gotten valuable contributions from role player like Mario Chalmers and Ray Allen. They seem to be really clicking during the most important time of the year.

They will await their opponent from the West, where the Rockets are currently a game away from reaching the Finals, up 3-1 against the #8 seeded Mavericks.

This picture sums up the series nicely.

Rockets reach finals for fifth time, eliminate Mavericks

Recap | Box Score | Highlights Image

MVP: Josh Smith racked up another quick triple-double, doing mostly rebounding and passing in the first half and scoring in the third quarter. James Harden and Gerald Green scored 19 and 16 respectively, a lot down to Smith's passing. 17 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists are his finishing numbers, reminding of LeBron James, who he'll face in the Finals.

LVP: The Mavericks. All of them. They lost the rebounding battle, only led once, had no defense and just 2 fast break points. They lost the last three games by an average of 22.7 points.

X-Factor: The Rockets ball movement. Harden and Smith led the superb ball movement as they had 21 assists between them. The team had 35 assists on 39 field goals. Coach McHale has praised ball movement and as they had 12 blocks which led to fast breaks, they would execute fast breaks superbly.
