Suns cut ties with Childress; Swap him for ThabeetThe Phoenix Suns sneaked in just before their opening night game against the Thunder with a trade for Trail-Blazers and former-2nd overall pick Hasheem Thabeet for struggling forward Josh Childress. The deal was done Thursday Night, with the Blazers adding a future 2nd-round pick to the deal.
The Suns have been looking for a solid defensive backup for Marcin Gortat, and now Robin Lopez has some competition. Childress had a tough season last year, struggling to adapt back to the NBA style of basketball after his stint in Europe.
Childress averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds last season, while Thabeet had 1 point and 2 rebounds per game.

Suns Release Price, Sign MillsThe Phoenix Suns have release third-string point guard Ronnie Price, and immediately signed speedy, young point Patrick Mills. The Australian Mills spent time recently playing in his home country for the Melbourne Tigers after a successful season in 2011 for the Portland Trail-Blazers. Mills will most likely play backup to Steve Nash in Phoenix. He tweeted about the signing saying "On my way to the @PhoenixSuns! Can't wait to play with @the_real_nash and the whole team."
Mills averaged 6 points and 2 assists in 12 minutes per game.
