With a new season on the horizon, your Atlanta Hawks have their fair share of mountains to climb. Coming off an exciting post season series, beating Orlando with smart defensive instincts and impressive offensive outputs, have they peaked? Jeff Teague has been given the nod by Larry Drew, allowing Teague to develop into a starter. Proving himself against a savy young star like Rose was the final notch on Teague's resume. Joe Johnson is not getting younger, while Smith has been impressive during our practices, can he elevate to the next level? With Crawford gone, Horford having some shoulder issues, can the Hawks still be a success? As the Eastern Conference improves, the Hawks are put at somewhat of a disadvantage due to lack of roster changes, as Miami, Chicago, Boston all get better, Atlanta stays the same. According to coach Drew, Tracy McGrady has improved drastically from last season, he is in tip top shape and is hounding on Marvin Williams for the starting small forward spot.

Hawks pride, now until forever. Keep ballin'!

McGrady working hard in practice, Marvin strugglingAtlanta Hawks forward Tracy McGrady was reportedly excelling in a recent practice held by Larry Drew. Larry Drew said Tracy's defense was "Improving" and his shot making from the three point range has been "superb", McGrady outright struggled in Detroit, where he had multiple arguments and infractions with head coach, John Kuester. Larry Drew and Tracy seem to be very close, and Tracy's responding well to whatever Drew asks of him. According to reports, Marvin Williams has barely done any practice. He's shooted jumpers but teammates have reported calling him out for leaving early, and Drew is upset and quite frankly astonished by Marvin's behavior. No word yet on if Marvin will talk to press, but rumors report he may be benched, but no confirmation on that quite yet.

Good luck with this one

The Hawks are a pretty good association team. You can either build now for a championship with the core of JJ, Smith and Horford or scrap it and build for the future.
