97The NBA Season opened up with a bang as the Thunder travelled to the city of angels to face off against the Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles Lakers. The game show cased some amazing scorers in Bryant and the Thunder’s duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook and it was a game that many expected to go down to the wire.
The game was extremely close heading into half time with Los Angeles up 45-41 thanks to a Kobe Bryant three pointer that her drained just as the buzzer sounded. Oklahoma City got little help from Kevin Durant who only had 7 points at the break thanks to a dismal 3-14 shooting.
The second half saw the Lakers jump out to an 11 point lead fuelled by Andrew Bynum who scored the Lakers first 9 points in the 3rd quarter and continued to control the paint for the Lakers and helped keep Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook from getting inside and bringing the Thunder back into the game.
Los Angeles held the Thunder off after a 4th quarter charge that saw them get within 3 points however some poor shooting from Durant and James Harden saw that 3 point margin slip back out to 9 points and that was a gap that the Thunder could not close and eventually fell 89-97.
