The Roy Re-Meniscus-ification & Return

Drafted in 2006, with nearly four years of experience in the NBA, Brandon Roy was nothing short of a rising superstar in the NBA, as a versatile scorer and a supreme all-around guard. He could score 20 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds any game for the Blazers, while being forced to put such an injury-stricken team on his back year after year. Suddenly, following a meniscus tear just before the 2010 Playoffs, Roy's career took a turn for the worst. It was found that his knees were degenerating. It appeared his days in the NBA could be numbered. After a strong showing in the 2011 Playoffs, there was hope that Roy would at least be able to play at a high level again, instead of the reserve role he had been restricted to the previous season.

In December of 2011, just days after the highly anticipated end of the lockout, Roy looked to start for the Blazers. Looking to shake the label of "injury-prone," Roy couldn't wait for the season to begin. Just two weeks before the season began, he had his knees checked one more time. Not long after, he was told that his knees wouldn't hold up in the grueling NBA schedule, and that there was no other reasonable option but to retire. What if it didn't have to end like this for Brandon Roy? What if he could start his whole career over?

INTRODUCING THE ALL-NEW FIVE-YEAR TIME REVERSER!

The all-new Five-Year Reverser can only turn back time five years and two months at a time, which is fairly convenient, seeing as that's when Roy first played in the NBA. Brandon Roy bought one with his insanely large amnesty clause check, got in. and pushed "GO BACK IN TIME" immediately. Roy is a rookie again, with an added bonus. The machine somehow gave him extra meniscus!

Sorry about my insane predictability and hopeless lack of imagination. :|

Nope, I'm actually doing the 2006-07 season on NBA Live 2003. Maybe Adam Morrison lives up to expectations?

Chapter 1: The First Game

Reporter (R): Well, Brandon Roy, this is it, your first NBA game starts in a couple hours. After months of working out with the team, how do you feel about the team?

Brandon Roy ( B): Obviously we've got a long way to go to compete for a championship, with Darius Miles trying to return from his knee injury, apparently he's gonna play tonight, but regardless of how he plays, we've got solid talent all around. We've got two great forwards in Aldridge and Randolph, Webster I think will be a good backup when Darius and I need a rest. And I think Jarrett will get the job done at point guard. We've got a decent center rotation, I know they're not elite centers, but we're a rebuilding team and I am happy with what we got there. I'm excited to play for the Blazers, I really am.

R: With the beginning of the 2006-2007 season just hours away, how do you feel, nervous?

B: I mean of course I'm kind of nervous but I've been dreaming of this moment all my life. I am really excited and I feel prepared enough to take on whatever comes my way in this opening game. I'm ready to start my career off the right way and I know Lamarcus feels the same way.

R: You mentioned Lamarcus Aldridge, are you and him the future of the franchise?

B: I would hope that we are, considering how the front office gave up a lot for us. They're trying to rebuild the roster and we are supposed to be the building blocks along with Zach Randolph, and so is Darius Miles if he gets healthy. If we are all healthy I see no reason we can't make the playoffs with this team.

R: Any goals for your first game?

B: I just want to make sure we out score the other team. That's my goal every game, even if that means not scoring much myself and passing most of the time. I'll do anything to win.

Probably won't get a chance to draft Oden or Durant. Maybe the team will be good enough to avoid a top 5 pick. (is that a good thing or bad thing?... :shifty: ), but yeah I would be interested to see healthy Roy and Durant play together.

I'll continue this at some point in the near future. I haven't really done anything with this in a few weeks.

Which part? The return of Brandon Roy, or me attempting to make up words?
