Slam Dunk: An NBA 2K12 Myplayer story

Postby JNett on Sat Oct 08, 2011 1:16 pm

I am going to do a my player story. However, in NBA 2k12 for some reason all the generated rookies do not participate in the season. The story needs an explanation for this. I was thinking about a bomb, in an arena. I don't want to upset anyone, so if i would, or if Im not allowed to have a bomb for some reason please tell me and i can think of something else.

Game: NBA 2K12
My Player: Derrick Mercer
Position: Center
Height: 6'11
Weight: 260 lbs
College: Connecticut
Drafted By: Utah Jazz #12 Overall
Averages: 12.6 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 3.0 APG, 1.8 SPG, 1.3 BPG

Somebody blew up their old franchise with one not too far back. It wasn't too tasteful, but nothing that scarred anybody. As I recall the reaction was more like WTF than anything else.

Despite having bombs in my own, I'd probably reccommend trying to find another reason. How would a bomb take out all the generated rookies? Like during the draft?

Egh, sounds ok to me.

How about all rookies are being assassinated by one but fortunately you are not and survive it.

What about a plane crash, but you missed the boarding time?

I think having one rookie assassinating the others would be a bit hard to do, but I like the idea of the plane crash. I'll probably go with that

What if everyone, except for your player, tore their ACL's at the same time and all their careers ended?

No, the generated rookies that replace the real rookies do not participate in the actual season, they're just there for the draft and showcase. The only rookies are Ricky Rubio, Robert Vaden, and you.

The Rookie Showcase

1st Ever Rookie Showcase set to begin
By Ted Douglas

The first ever Rookie Showcase, which will be held in New York, is scheduled to begin tomorrow. The event will last a week. There will be numerous workouts early on in the week for draftees, but then the real fun begins.

Numerous games will begin, and all will be open to the public. The games will last for three more days. That’s when the actual draft commences. After that, all the drafted rookies will board a plane and fly to Las Angeles for a rookie photo-shoot.

Image Meet Derrick Mercer...

Despite it being 12 o’clock at night, you can still hear the steady beat of the basketball on the pavement. A single streetlight illuminates the court… and the one man still on it.

Atleast we think it’s a man. As we get closer, he hears us coming and turns, revealing an unshaven beard, and a massive frame. It’s Sasquatch! Just kidding. It’s Derrick Mercer, one of the top prospects in the up and coming draft.

He’s got 260 pounds of muscle. I’m 6’2 and he makes me look like a midget, standing 9 inches taller than me. Trust me, if you saw this kid, you’d think he was Sasquatch too. Did I mention he’s just 19?

Mercer went to the University of Connecticut, and finished his freshman year with averages of 14 points a game, along with 11 rebounds and 2 assists. He has been considered a lottery pick by many.

His performance in the rookie showcase (which kicks off tomorrow) will show GM’s and Scouts more about this young player’s game.

Note: Will add pictures later, maybe

D. Mercer:

I’m so pumped up for this thing. I’m going up against some of the best prospects in the nation here. All the guys I’ve been practicing and working out with seem pretty cool; it’s a shame I’m about to make ‘em look like fools.

I’m going to be starting this game, so hopefully I’ll get enough minutes to show the scouts and managers out there what I can do. I’m not sure how much this thing is going to count towards where I get drafted, I mean, everyone already saw me go all the way and win the whole thing in college.

No matter what, I know I'm going to go crazy out there.

The file for my player is corrupted, and it was the only file I had, so this is done I guess.

You make that lesson once and you learn it. Glad it came before you got too far into this.
