Wolves' 10-11 Season Review

Postby Larvae on Thu Jun 30, 2011 9:49 pm

Image

The Minnesota Timberwolves were able to atleast improve their record over the last year by much but still wasn't enough to make it through the Playoff picture this year but their players have shown a promising future ahead of them as their performance each and every game was impressive. Wolves rookie Wesley Johnson had made a fresh and solid start to his NBA Career and said "This year wasn't our year. But i guess next year will be a more solid season for us." Another guy who helped the Wolves improve their record was their man guy, Kevin Love, Love lead the team in points and rebounds and was the team's first option at offense.

Regular Season Record: 27-31
Season Result: Didn't Make The Playoffs

Shaq Calls It "A Career" With 5 Rings

Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal, nicknamed "Shaq", is a former American professional basketball player. Standing 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) tall and weighing 325 pounds (147 kg), he was one of the heaviest players ever to play in the NBA. Throughout his 19-year career, O'Neal used his size and strength to overpower opponents for points and rebounds.
Following a standout career at Louisiana State University, O'Neal was drafted by the Orlando Magic with the first overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft. He quickly became one of the top centers in the league, winning Rookie of the Year in 1992–93 and later leading his team to the 1995 NBA Finals. After four years with the Magic, O'Neal signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers. He won three consecutive championships, playing alongside Kobe Bryant, in 2000, 2001, and 2002. O'Neal's relationship with Bryant eventually declined into a feud. O'Neal was traded to the Miami Heat in 2004, and his fourth NBA championship followed in 2006. Midway through the 2007–2008 season he was traded to the Phoenix Suns. After a season-and-a-half with the Suns, O'Neal was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he played alongside LeBron James in the 2009–10 season. In his last season with the NBA, he played for the Chicago Bulls and helped the young Derrick Rose win its first NBA Championship and Kobe and Shaq now has 5.

O'Neal's individual accolades include the 1999–2000 MVP award, the 1992–93 NBA Rookie of the Year award, 15 All-Star game selections, three All-Star Game MVP awards, three Finals MVP awards, two scoring titles, 14 All-NBA team selections, and three NBA All-Defensive Team selections. He is one of only three players to win NBA MVP, All-Star game MVP and Finals MVP awards in the same year (2000); the other players are Willis Reed in 1970 and Michael Jordan in 1996 and 1998. He ranks 5th all-time in points scored, 5th in field goals, 12th in rebounds, and 7th in blocks.
In addition to his basketball career, O'Neal has released four rap albums, with his first, Shaq Diesel, going platinum. He has appeared in numerous films and has starred in his own reality shows, Shaq's Big Challenge and Shaq Vs.

2011 NBA Draft Lottery • Mock Draft

Postby Larvae on Fri Jul 01, 2011 7:59 pm

Well you've seen it, the No.1 pick goes to the New Jersey Nets. A young team with a potential championship caliber team in the near future with Brook Lopez and Deron Williams leading the squad and their No.1 Overall pick will help alot for the Nets. "I'm really overjoyed to see our team win this year's Draft Lottery." Words by New Jersey Nets Guard, Deron Williams.

The Minnesota Timberwolves didn't end the Draft Lottery very well as they were expecting to be in the Top 10 of the Draft Lottery. David Kahn said, "Its just fine, i can take that. Although we didn't end up in the Top 10, we'll just simply move on. I'm upset alright but that's just how its rolls." The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to make things up this off-season and maybe involving Michael Beasley, but Beasley said, "I'm not expecting a trade anytime soon, i'm very much happy here in Minnesota."

"With our pick being held at the 13th, we should expect a lot of immediate changes by Draft Night."
- David Kahn

I know right, i'm really looking forward for him. Darko is a NO-NO. :facepalm2:
My Lineup looks pretty much effective for a decade  . But my bench wouldn't be that intact for years.

NBA Draft Night 2011

Postby Larvae on Sat Jul 02, 2011 3:14 am

New Jersey -- The hometown team got the jackpot during the Draft Lottery Night and they have drafted Alec Burks who is a Guard who can defend and score well, some say that he is a Jason Terry type of player. He's quick and agile. Despite a weak NBA Draft held this year or some also says that "A Draft with a bunch of Role Players". In an interview with the New Jersey Nets Rookie he said, "It may be a weak draft like other say, but we have months to train before we can prove ourselves. Every guy who has stepped on the hardwood is a good player, Only other are better because they work harder than them."

While Former Duke Point Guard Kyrie Irving didn't end up at the top of the list, Derrick Williams out of Arizona took the spot of Irving in the no.2 pick in the Draft. Big changes were made during the Draft Night, Including Elton Brand, Richard Hamilton and Johnny Flynn headlining the trades.

With the 5th pick being held by the Washington Wizards, they proposed a trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 5th Pick of the 2011 NBA Draft and Guard Cartier Martin would go to Minnesota while in exchange the Timberwolves traded the 13th Pick of the 2011 NBA Draft and Anthony Randolph to the Washington Wizards. "Finally! We would be able to Kanter to our team." That's what David Kahn said after they picked Enes Kanter with the 5th Pick of this years Draft. "Kanter is the guy i really want on this team. He is a versatile Center, can shoot the mid-range jump shot and can defend in the post." - David Kahn

Fernandez Lands in Minnesota

The Minnesota Timberwolves continue to make their bench stronger as they added forward/guard Rudy Fernandez. Fernandez will now play along side 21 Year Old Ricky Rubio whom he played with during the world olympics in 2008. "I'm ready to revive my career again after my injuries. And i would like to play here." Rudy Fernandez said after he accepted the Timbewolves offer.

Rudy Fernandez formerly played for the Portland Trailblazers in his first season with the NBA and he has been a perfect fit for them but injuries had sidelined him for most of last season's games. Rudy Last played for the Dallas Mavericks before signing with the Timberwolves. Fernandez averaged 1.6 PPG with the Mavs

PROLOGUE
The Chronicles of New Era Begins Now.

Minnesota Timberwolves Owner Glen Taylor wasn't feeling well, so he picked up the phone and called a mystery person nobody knew except Glen Taylor himself.
"Hey buddy! I would like to talk about something. Would that be alright?"
"Oh Hey buddy! Yeah sure what is it?"
"Just recently, i heard you were interested in business. Is that right?"
"Yeah it is true."
"Well, this Minnesota team has been struggling for wins and i know we made significant trades and signings but i think i just can't take the pressure much longer."
"So you want to step down as Team Owner?"
"Sort of, i just can't take much longer"
The conversation silenced for a while and both hanged up the phone. But after a little while....
"Hey there buddy, i would just like to tell you would you like to takeover?"
"I don't think i'm capable enough of that job."
"Sure you can, you've been here before. Being the Boss is your specialty right?"
"Yeah i guess its my specialty. But i really don't know"
"But let me tell you this, are you interested?"
"Hmmm.. I'll think about it."
"Think hard man, your the only man i trust."
Timberwolves Owner Glen Taylor called the attention of all the teams staff organization for a short meeting...
"Good afternoon gentlemen. I would have an announcement to make, now this team will have major changes to go trough this off-season. Major changes would include me stepping down as Team Owner. That's all and have a fruitful season for all of you. Thank you guys!"
As all of the staffs walking out of the room, Taylor's phone rang.. And he clearly knew who called him...
"Buddy! I have made up my mind about your offer."
"Great! What is it man?"
While Taylor was waiting for his buddy response he crossed his fingers and prayed nervously... His buddy finally answered Taylor's offer with a...
"Yes, i would like to purchase the Minnesota Timberwolves from you."
"Great man! Great!"
After three days, the change was finally official.

In this first every part of "The Story" we have witnessed the first major change by the Minnesota Timberwolves this off-season. Are you wondering now? Who could be the Timberwolves new Team Owner? Share your thoughts, its free

Timberwolves Sold to Taylor's Multi-Billionaire Buddy
Posted: August 16, 2011 3:33 PM EDT

MINNESOTA -- After the league approved Glen Taylor's request. The Minnesota Timberwolves officially announced that the Wolves are now under the era of former Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor's multi-billionaire buddy, Larvae McKenzie. McKenzie is a native of Minneapolis, MIN and of course he's a billionaire, he's handled many organizations and had succeeded with all of them.

"It has been that long since i've first made my big step into this organization but i would like to give this job to a younger and more intelligent guys to this job. Even before i thought of stepping down, i always had the plan of selling this to my buddy. He's a Wolves fan ever since, although he isn't a fanatic but he supports me and the team, he also did minor stuffs while i was in charge so it wouldn't take a long time for the staff and the players to like each other because they always see me and Larvae together. I just wish the best of luck to this team once again."He is the best at what he does!" also McKenzie finally spoke to the crowd and said "As the new Team Owner, this Timberwolves team is gonna go under a long ride, major changes will be made here in Minnesota. Expect that, and i would also want to thanks the people who are supporting me at this job."

McKenzie is a native of Minneapolis, MIN. McKenzie grew up watching basketball too, since he was a fan of the Timberwolves ever since, McKenzie and Taylor met at Minnesota. The two become really close friend after they met and McKenzie was helping Taylor do his job but nobody noticed. So when Taylor said he was already stepping down as majority owner, he knew he had someone to call deserving for the job. "Glen is a great guy you know, he may not have given this team Championships and all that you can see that everyday he's thinking about the team and stuffs, but lately you saw him make some excellent moves on draft night and during the free agency period, although he couldn't done it without David. And so i assure to all the Timberwolves fan that i will bring this team away from darkness and into the light. I hope that the fans would appreciate on what i will do and not do."
