Joe Dumars has today been retrenched of his managerial position by the Detroit Pistons Owner, Karen Davidson. Davidson announced the removal of Dumars after a supposed heated argument between the two.
Davidson has stated that she is appointing an unknown man by the name of Andrés Estrada. Davidson told the various reporters at the press conference involving Estrada that he has been a part of the Pistons organization since he was a mere 15 years old. Beginning his tenure with the "Bad Boy" Pistons in 1986, he was known as "the kid who got drinks" to all the Pistons players.
At the age of 22 (1993), Estrada graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Business and Finance and once again returned to the Pistons this time within their marketing sector. On his 27th (1998) birthday, the late William Davidson (former Pistons owner, husband of now widowed Karen Davidson) offered Estrada a job as his personal assistant whilst still maintaining his job with the Pistons, Estrada gladly accepted.
In 2005 at the age of 34, Estrada was appointed as assistant General Manager of the WNBA Detroit Shock. After the retrenchment of the general manager of the Detroit Shock, Estrada was promoted to the General Manager position of the WNBA title contenders. In 2006 (35), Estrada's Shock won the WNBA championship and this achievement was recognized by the Pistons organisation whom offered Estrada a position as assistant general manager of the Detroit Pistons.
Now, at the age of 38, Estrada has been called up to the general managing position of the Detroit Pistons, the team that he loved since his early teenage years. Andres Estrada has proven to gain a championship for Detroit once, but with a team that has been imploded and suffered defeat last season, we here at the Detroit Pistons hope that Andres Estrada can take us to glory once again.
