The Minnesota Timberwolves just turned out to be one of the top contenders into a disappointment of the league since losing their ace player Kevin Garnett. The team was struggling during the end of the 2000 decade that let them decide to change it by acquiring David Kahn as their general manager. Getting a sports enthusiast like David could be a good thing for the Wolves but things just turned out to be not. Many critics questioned Kahn's decisions from his draft decision, trading Al Jefferson away and signing not so good players in replace. This could still be better for the team but more questions were added among basketball fans and insiders when David Kahn made a surprise move during the early start of the season. He quickly traded away Michael Beasley, Luke Ridnour and Greg Stiemsma to Phoenix in exchange for a Grant Hill and Channing Frye while he gets another draft pick from Sacramento in exchange of Martell Webster. Many basketball analysts just shook their heads and gave David a shrug after the trade, they thought was a one sided deal in favor of Phoenix as they are looking for a good replacement for Amare' and they just added another good Point Guard in the rotation. As the whole NBA world wants some answers to what David Kahn just did to his team, he quickly answers back by signing a free agent the next day and he's none other than Allen Iverson, a man who just had a bad performance last season and decided to leave due to personal issues but still able to start in the All Star Game.

---------------------

"I just thought a young team like the Timberwolves needs a mentor and we could really see that in our veteran additions of Grant Hill and Allen Iverson. The young guys like Johnny Flynn, Wayne Ellington and Wesley Johnson can learn a lot of things from them ", David Kahn said during his first media interview after his roller coaster ride in just two days. David Kahn just became the most controversial person in the NBA today. Is he really out of his mind? Oh Wait! I think we forgot something....

I agree with Durantula, your Cavs dynasty is going well, why do you need another dynasty? Anyways, good luck. :)

Inside the Locker Room:

The Wolves' young players, Jonny Flynn and Wesley Johnson have arrived early inside the gym for a Training and decided to hang out inside the locker room for a while.

Wesley Johnson: Man! I can't believe Allen Iverson is in our team! I am a big fan of him. He's just a beast during his prime.

Jonny Flynn: Same here! Remember the finals between the Sixers and Lakers? I keep rooting on him! I just hope we could get on him before we start our practice match.

The two continues to chat inside the locker room when their idol came inside wearing a coat and a dark shades. The two approached him and greeted the guard veteran while he puts his bag inside his locker but then they were disappointed as AI just ignored and passed them to talk with Kurt Rambis.

Jonny Flynn: He just walked through us!

Wesley Johnson: Hmmm... Maybe he didn't notice us because he is wearing a pair of black shades.

Jonny Flynn: . . . Oh really?

Wesley Johnson: Haha! Just kidding bro!

The boys are still upset with what happened when Grant Hill approached them.

Grant Hill: 'Sup boys?

Jonny Flynn: Yo! It's Grant Hill!

Wesley Johnson: Glad a teammate greeted us!

Grant Hill: Haha! Why? did someone just walked inside the locker room just to get on his stuff without showing some courtesy? Well, that's Allen Iverson.

Wesley Johnson: What is his problem?

Grant Hill: He just don't talk much with the rookies, but I tell you he is a nice guy. Well, boys we better go back in the gym, our game is about to start, you Wes will be teaming up against Jonny there and AI.

At the Practice Game

The whole practice game just highlighted between Wesley Johnson and Allen Iverson as they try to go inch to inch. Wesley failed to defend from AI's swift crossovers that able him to get some scores for his team, but the young rookie didn't surrender from AI and was able to escape from the veteran and gets inside the hoop. There's only 10 seconds left with AI's team having a one point lead as Wesley tried to get the job done and get the win. He has been on tight guard on AI but then he managed to get through when he able to tricked him with a fake shot and instead go for a kill crossover. Wes quickly runs inside for a jump shot at the 3 second mark but AI quickly runs in front of him and hardly blocked his shot and pushed the young rookie down the floor. The ref calls for a foul when Wes gets up and shouted AI in front of his face, "What is your problem?", his other teammate quickly tried to pull Wes away the veteran. AI just gave him a smirk and leaves the gym without any single word. Grant approached him and tried to talk but AI is still silent and went inside the locker room to pack up.

The Wolves experienced tough defeats on the road.

Big Road Blow Up

Image

It has been one hell of a ride for the Timberwolves at the start of the season. It all started when David Kahn just traded some of the team’s key contributors in exchange for old guys who had already passed their prime and signing Allen Iverson. He became confident with his decisions but looks like it didn’t gave something at all during their games on the road. Allen Iverson had done an amazing effort but it didn’t give the Wolves a chance to get a single road win. “I don’t have any regrets after dealing Grant Hill, Channing Frye and Allen Iverson. They are still in the adjusting periods and it has been the start of the season, this loss are just part of the challenges the team will have this season”, David Kahn told the press.
First off, the Wolves faced off the Grizzlies where Allen Iverson made an impressive season debut with a high 43 points while Kevin Love had 10 rebounds and Wesley Johnson with 9 assist. The Wolves came up strong since the start but the Grizzlies didn’t surrender that and able to stay on close with Minnesota. By the final seconds, the score are tie but Memphis didn’t want to continue this to overtime after O.J. Mayo made a successful shot and finished the game with 96-98.

Team Leaders:
Points – Allen Iverson – 43 points, OJ Mayo/Mike Conley – 19 points
Rebounds – Kevin Love – 10 rebounds, Zach Randolph – 6 rebounds
Assits – Wesley Johnson – 9 assits, Mike Conley – 7 assits

After their first tough loss of the season, they went to Florida to battle two Eastern Conference Contenders, the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic. The team found it hard to get along with the likes of Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Chris Bosh, Vince Carter and Dwight Howard and left Florida with two upset losses (99-118 @Miami & 116-136 @Orlando). "They are strong! Very strong teams. We tried to hold on our defenses from the start but then at the end, we lost our composures and didn't get back in the game.", rookie Wesley Johnson said when he got caught inside the locker room. The press tried to get a chat with Allen Iverson but the disappointed veteran decided not to talk with them and instead he gave thrown them a towel down the floor and leave. "Looks like he's reaching his middle age crisis", Kevin Love said.

Team Leaders:
@ Miami
Points – Allen Iverson – 28 points, Dwayne Wade – 39 points Lebron James – 30 points
Rebounds – Kevin Love – 8 rebounds, Lebron James – 6 rebounds
Assits – Allen Iverson – 5 assits, Carlos Arroyo – 6 assits
@ Orlando

Oh, my bad. :(

Tough on the three losses, the two Florida teams are just too dominant. I'm surprised you lost the the mediocre Grizzlies. Hope you can bounce back next few games. :)

The Wolves continues to struggle

David Kahn may think he finally found "The Answer" with his big change in the roster of the Timberwolves, but the team is still finding ways on how the improve their game and get a win by visiting three play-offs favorites.

Image

The Wolves' bench worked hard for a losing battle against the Hawks

First off, they welcomed the visiting Atlanta Hawks and found a tough competitor in the form of Joe Johnson who leaded his team to 10 point lead at the start of the game. The Timberwolves tried to get back and managed to get close with the team with a 10-0 run before the second half ends. The Wolves had a great start by the start of the second half but it seems bad luck returns at the last quarter as Allen Iverson struggles to get a point in the paint while a very strong Darko Milicic was fouled out and was replaced by a fatigued, Kosta Koufos. This made the Hawks turn down the table and put the sides of the game into them and ends it with the final score of 108 - 125 with Joe Johnson getting a high 30 points and Josh Smith with 29 points. Wes Johnson did 39 points to a losing effort while Allen Iverson got 25 points.

Team Leaders:

Points: Wesley Johnson - 39 points, Joe Johnson - 30 points
Rebounds: Allen Iverson - 5 rebounds, Josh Smith - 9 rebouds
Assits: Jonny Flynn - 5 assits, Jeff Teague - 8 assits

AI skyrockets against Houston

A very stressed out team then flies of to Toyota Center to face a Yao-less rockets who had been sprained his right foot during their last game. The Wolves had thought they could pull out a victory without Houston's Tower but they still failed to do so as Aaron Brooks lead his team to a win (96-110). Once again, AI and Wes Johnson leaded the pack but still dislike each other after their confrontation from their practice game. The Wolves' bench continues to show a good performance with Grant Hill having 12 points in the game. With all their big plays, they still haven't find a victory as Aaron Brooks is hungry for a win and contributed a very high 43 points and proves he indeed improved a lot by being the Rocket's main point guard.

Team Leaders:

Points: Wesley Johnson - 27 points, Aaron Brooks - 43 points
Rebounds: Darko Milicic/ Wesley Johnson - 5 rebounds, Jordan Hill - 6 rebouds
Assits: Jonny Flynn/ Sebastian Telfair - 4 assits, Aaron Brooks - 5 assits

--------------------------------

Image

The Wolves just had their tough luck in looking to break their losing streak as they faced the defending champions, the Los Angeles Lakers. With a very healthy Kobe Bryant, AI and the guys find it hard to get the team in a better shape against the Lakers. Pau Gasol lead the score at the first half but sure find it hard to face Wes Johnson who played as a tough Power Forward when Kevin Love was put into bench. Grant Hill continues to come strong out of the bench and challenged Kobe inside the paint while Darko continues to improve in every game. The game ended with the final score of 107-119 with Kobe added another shame to the team by leading the game with 46 points. "Indeed a shameful week for us, but this is still the start of the season, right? We still have 74 more games and we are all ready to look for the outcome of it", General Manager David Kahn said with all smiles during the Wolves' press conference. "Well... we are still on the "adjustment period"!, sighed Kurt Rambis. Now, the Wolves had a 1-7 standing. Can the Wolves finally end their upset streak before the month ends?

Wolves berserks the Kings in the last minutes

The Minnesota Timberwolves entered the Arco Arena with a very mad Kurt Rambis trying to scold both Allen Iverson and Wesley Johnson to end their issues and start cooperating with each other. While the so called "bust", Darko Milicic continued to be praised his impressive defensive performance before they face Tyreke Evans and the Kings. The team had a great start and tried to put the game in a great lead but the Kings fight back and came up close before the first half ends. Second half had been crucial for the Wolves as the Kings made easy scores against them and put the scores to a tie. The Wolves' defense became worse at the end of the third that let the Kings pass through by the end. Kurt Rambis was once again preached his players that let their defense return back by the fourth quarter. With Milicic complains of fatigued, Kosta Koufos has been given the task to stop Samuel Dalembert and Demarcus Cousins inside the paint and he was able to do it. Now, the Wolves are having problems with Tyreke Evans' swift moves but then at the end, the Wolves still managed to win after a shot coming from AI before the time laps, 105-102.

Team Leaders:
Points: Allen Iverson - 20 points, Tyreke Evans/ Carl Landry - 20 points
Rebounds: Jonny Flynn - 6 rebounds, Omri Casspi - 7 rebounds
Assits: Wesley Johnson - 4 assits, Omri Casspi - 6 rebounds

STAT was challenged, but still got the win against the Wolves

After getting a win after a disappointing 7 losing streaks, the Wolves tried to look for another victory in Madison Square Garden where Amare' Stoudemire and the other Knickerbockers are waiting for them to square off. The Wolves struggles at the early start of the game after Knicks had put them to a 10-0 run lead by Gallo. AI then managed to find some space before the quarter ends and able to narrow down the Knicks' lead to 4 points. The second quarter was a different story as STAT was challenged by the Wolves' defensive center, Darko Milicic after getting rejected inside the paint twice. The Wolves returns back after several misses made by the Knicks and able to end the first half with only a point lead from New York. The second half showed some perseverance as AI made 3 consecutive scores after getting some turnovers from Felton and Mason and finally put the Wolves to the lead. With an on-going momentum from the Wolves at the start of the 4th quarter, both AI and Wes tried to finish the game by their own hands but then was stopped by a returning Amare' Stoudemire. A lot of missed shots was made by AI and Darko Milicic is tiring out as it can be seen in his defenses. The Wolves are slowly tiring out while STAT starts to dominate and end the game with another disappointing loss from the Wolves, 114-120.

Team Leaders:
Points: Allen Iverson - 36 points, Amare' Stoudemire - 40 points
Rebounds: Jonny Flynn - 6 rebounds, Amare' Stoudemire/Danilo Gallinari/ Raymond Felton - 6 rebounds
Assits: Kevin Love - 5 assits, Amare' Stoudemire - 6 assits

The Hawks fell down at the paws of the Timberwolves

After having another disappointing loss, a tired out Wolves must face another tough challenge on road as they go to Philips Arena for a game against the Atlanta Hawks. With the team's losing the spirit, both young guns, Flynn and Johnson are still determined to get the win and it is obvious as they started the game with a surprising 8-0 run. This gives the team some fighting spirit in the early half and continued to blow out the Hawks but Josh Smith didn't want to make that happen and proves why he is a member of the All Defensive Team of the league. Joe Johnson was put to rest and let young point guard put all the work but he failed to get the Hawks to a lead although he's putting some good baskets. The Hawks just exploded at the second half and managed to get close from the Wolves and able to the tie up the score. Teague continues to throw some good shots but AI is also doing it for the Wolves. Darko managed to put on his defensive shoes and stopped Al Horford and Marvin Williams while Sebastian Telfair helped the team in getting turn overs. By the end, the Wolves let the Hawks' fans leave the arena with sad faces as they beat Atlanta, 125 - 121.

Team Leaders:
Points: Allen Iverson - 34 points, Jeff Teague - 43 points
Rebounds: Kevin Love - 10 rebounds, Al Horford - 9 rebounds
Assits: Allen Iverson - 5 assits, Jeff Teague - 8 assits

Coach's Notes to the GM
The Timberwolves' Head Coach, Kurt Rambis is still upset with their General Manager, David Kahn after putting the team to very tight situation. He then sits down his love seat after just having three tough games with the team. He relaxed and unwind and realizes, Kahn did a good thing after all. He's seeing good performances by Darko Milicic and he continues to improve his game while the veterans are also shaping up the team, but then there are still missing. Kurt tried to ponder and tried to think what are those things. After an hour, a light bulb came out of his head and decides to sit down on his desk in front of his lap top and typed an email to the GM.

Dear Kahn,

Hi, you maybe think it is a bit awkward to see me sending this e-mail to you at this time, but I would like to request some things to you. I know you are the GM and you are doing all what to put this team to success and I want to help you. I would like to look for this that could help the team. We need a strong Center to back up Darko Milicic in defense. I know see your point in signing Milicic but he still have room to improve in his age and now we need is another center to help him out. Kosta Koufos isn't the type of center you want to put him in. I think you can bait Corey Brewer for this, sorry to say. I know you liked the guy but he is having little play time in front court after getting Allen Iverson. Hope you able to put this note in your memo.

Regards,
Kurt Rambis

Kurt Rambis sent the e-mail and he gets out of his desk to get a glass of whiskey. He returns back in his desk to check his followers in Twitter but then he was surprised to see a quick reply from David Kahn.

Hi Kurt,

I also had that thought, why did you know! ROFLMAO... :) :) :)

Don't worry I have an idea, and you'll like it!

Thanks,
The Khan

Kurt Rambis' face turned blank with no reaction at all with his reply.
