Mavericks sign Michael Finley, Tim Thomas, and Da'Sean Butler
The Mavericks brought back two familiar faces.
One who blew Dirk Nowitzki a kiss, and another who was a star.
The other guy will be a familiar face.
The Mavericks agreed to terms with Michael Finley and Tim Thomas, each deal worth 467,000 dollars, for 1 year.
"I am excited to come back the the Mavericks, my home team. I feel like I'm home." said Finley, who had spent the last season with the Boston Celtics
Finley, 37, was cut by Dallas to avoid the Luxury Tax in 2005, and was signed by the Spurs. He spent 5 seasons there, including being punched by Jason Terry in Game 5 of the playoffs. Finley was then bought out by the Spurs and signed with the Celtics.
"I want to thank Dallas for giving me a chance to shine. God Bless Mr. Lewis, Mark, and Donnie." said Thomas.
Thomas, 33, was signed by Dallas last year. He took a leave to take care of his sick daughter. He will backup Dirk Nowitzki.
"I had wished that Miami would've signed, but they'll pay when we win the championship." said Butler.
Butler was drafted by the Heat out of West Virginia. He was a star in West Virginia, leading the Mountaineers to the Final Four, which they ended up losing to Duke in the Semi-Final. Butler and the Mavericks agreed to a 2 year 12.89 million dollar deal. He will be in the D-League for 5 games, and if he shines, will get 2 games in the NBA.
Finley will wear his familiar number 4, with Caron Butler switching to 7.
"We're excited. This year will be a championship year." said Willie Lewis at the press conference.

Biggest Deal in NBA History: 7 teams, 26 draft picks/player deal
The Mavericks, Bobcats, Magic, Pistons, Hornets, Kings, and Clippers have agreed to the biggest deal in NBA History.
Chris Paul left New Orleans, and well, all hell broke out after that.
In the deal, The Dallas Mavericks receive Mickeal Pietrus, Eric Gordon, and 2 2nd round picks, Gordon will start at the Shooting Guard position, while Pietrus will get plenty of time off of the bench.
"We feel like we have all the pieces to go all the way for a few years." said Willie Lewis, GM of the Dallas Mavericks.
The Clippers, received Shawn Marion and a 2nd round pick from New Orleans. With Marion, they get a great rebounder, and their lineup gets a boost with Aminu being at the 2. "We're excited," said Coach Vinny del Negro "Getting Marion gives us a great rebounder and a great teammate."
The main part of this deal was again, Chris Paul. CP3 went to the Magic, along with Deshawn Stevenson, Samuel Dalembert and a 2nd round pick.
"Man, I think that this is the best team I've ever been on. I am pumped for the season. My legs are jittery. My heart is pounding. We can compete with the Heat. Defiantly." said CP3 in his press conference.
"Am I excited? Hell Yes." said Dwight Howard.
The Hornets got so much players and picks. They got Charlie Villinueva, Craig Smith, Francisco Garcia, Darnell Jackson, a 2nd round pick[1], and 2 1st round picks [2], Erick Dampier.
"We're rebuilding." said GM Dell Demps
The Pistons got a dynamic duo themselves. They received Jameer Nelson, Emeka Okefor, Brian Cook, and 2 2nd round picks.
"We're pumped. We have enough to make a playoff run." said Joe Dumars.
The Bobcats received Peja Stojakovic. "He's a proven winner, he can do us so much." said Micheal Jordan.
The Kings, got expiring contracts in Tayshaun Prince, and Vince Carter. "These two will help us score, score, and score." said Tyreke Evans.
NOTES: The 2nd round pick from Charlotte is if Erick Dampier retires. If he doesn't Charlotte gets the pick....The picks from Orlando and Sacramento cannot be traded for players, just picks.

2ND QUARTER LEAVES MAVS IN THE DUST AS THE LAKERS BURN THEM TO A CRISP

Butler had 12 points, and Dirk had 11. "LA obviously ran up the score. I mean, Sasha Vacrappa was taking 3's with 2 minutes left and being up by almost 30. What the hell is right about that?" said Dominique Jones, rookie out of South Flordia, who had 4 points.
Meanwhile, the Lakers dominated the Mavericks 29-8 in the 2nd quarter. Kobe had 23 points, followed by Ron Artest who had 15. "We didn't run up the score. That fool is pissed that we upended them." replied Artest to the claims of the Mavs' Jones.

The Mavericks plain choked against the Jazz, being outscore 30-22 in the fourth to end up losing 100-88. Caron Butler had 22 Points, and Dirk had 15. "We didn't grab rebounds at all. We just stood there expecting our Big Men [Brendan Haywood, Tyson Chandler] to pick up the rebounds. We didn't step it up." said Jason Kidd, who had 6 points.
The Jazz, were just plain dominant. Deron Williams had 35 points and 6 assists, making teardrops almost every time going into the lane. 'Big Ass' Al Jefferson had 15 points and 10 rebounds. "Mavericks are a joke." said Jefferson.

DALLAS LOSES A HEARTBREAKER AGAINST THE RAPTORS
The worst way to lose a game is when you're up and choke.
That's how the Mavs lost.
Jarrett 'Lack' Jack hit the game winning three point play to provide Toronto with their second straight win, 98-97. Jack got the ball, took it for a layup, and got fouled by Kidd. Dirk tried a last second three but missed. He had 29 points. "Worst way to lose a game. Just stings in your heart." said Caron Butler who had 15 points.
Leandro Barbosa killed the Mavs, scorching them for 23 like he did when he was with the Suns. Demar DeRozan had 20. "The feeling of a comeback is great." said Jarrett Jack, who had 13 points, 9 assists and the game winning shot.
DALLAS CRUSHES ROCKETS
The Mavericks got off to a fast start and never looked back.
Dirk had 26 points, as he led his Maverick team to a thrashing of the Rockets, 104-88. The 3rd quarter was the key. Dallas outscored Houston 26-16, which gave them a huge lead. "We felt unstoppable." said Eric Gordon, who had 16 points.
Kevin Martin led the Rockets with 28 points, while Yao Ming, had 17 points and 16 rebounds. "Next time, next time." said Shane Battier.
DALLAS CRUSHES SPURS TO MAKE IT 2 IN A ROW
The Mavericks hit the gate running, outscoring the Spurs 37-12 in the 1st to provide a 114-101 victory over the 5-1 Spurs. Eric Gordon had 23, Dirk had 21. "Hitting the gate running was fun, but next time, we're going to crush them so bad next time they'll cry." said Gordon, who now is getting to the rivalry part of joining the Mavs.
Tony Parker had 24 points and 6 assists. Timmy D had 20 Points and 7 Rebounds. "Next time, they'll see a different team." said Parker.
MAVS DOWNPLAY SURGING WOLVES
The Mavericks under estimated the Minnesota Timberwolves, as they fell to them 97-87. The Wolves made a run in the Fourth, while Dallas made one more push which failed after Wes Johnson drained a 3. Dirk had 22 and 8 rebounds. "We fell to the Wolves' trap. We just didn't preform good." said Caron Butler, who had 14 points.
The Wes Johnson show has continued. Wes had 23 points, and Micheal Beasley had 18. "We showed them the future." said Delonte West, who had 14 points.
MAVS LOSE TO PISTONS, BRAWL BETWEEN BUTLER AND STUCKEY OVERSHADOWS BEN GORDON'S 19
A Brawl with 4 minutes left in the game overshadowed a Pistons Victory, which was 97-79.
Caron Butler was attempting to block Jameer Nelson's layup, when Rodney Stuckey ran into him, slamming the small forward to the ground. "My first instinct was, I'm going to kick that guy's ass." said Butler. Emeka Okefor seperated the two.
Dirk had 18, as did Caron. "Don't want to talk about it." replied Coach Rick Carlisle.
Ben Gordon led the team with 19 points. The Pistons left without talking to the Press.
MAVS COMEBACK AND BEAT MILWAUKEE 98-90

MAVS LOSE THE 2ND GAME AGAINST SPURS
The Mavericks have something with choking: It doesn't happen in the fourth anymore.

"I felt bad, I felt so bad." he said.
The Team went off to find a replacement and they did.
