(** Jazz own knicks 1st round pick from 2004 Marbury trade via the Suns)

With the Knicks trading away there 2010 1st round the draft pick when they traded for Ex-Suns guard and New York playground legend Stephon Marbury 6 years ago they never thought that they would be giving up the 3rd pick in such a strong draft.

This is the 2nd time the Knicks who were led by Isiah Thomas at the time gave up a high draft pick to get a player when back in 2005 the Knicks traded what turned out to be the 2nd overall pick in the 2006 missing out on players like LaMarcus Aldridge , Tyrus Thomas , Brandon Roy and Rudy Gay

With 2 second round draft picks in the 2010 draft Donnie Walsh knew he had to prove his drafting skills after him and his scouts failed in 09 passing on stud Brandon Jennings , all around player Terrence Williams or star in the making Jrue Holiday opting for Jordan Hill with the 8th pick who never got his chance in New York before been shipped to Houston in the T-Mac deal that would free up more cap space for the summer.

Image
(2nd round , 3rd pick - Larry Sanders)

With the 3rd pick of the 2nd round Donnie Walsh and the Knicks couldnt believe there luck when a defensive forward that the knicks spent many scouting trips on Larry Sanders slipped into the 2nd round and the hands of the Knicks.

"Larry is a 3 year player from Virginia Commonwealth who has improved his overall game each year most noted at the defensive end where we feel our roster has a big hole to fill" - Walsh

09/10 Stats - 14.4ppg 9.1rpg 2.6bpg 53%FG

Image
(2nd round , 20th pick - Jordan Crawford)

Jordan Crawford is another player that fell into the knicks hands and another player that they had there eyes on as a project player, Mike D'Antoni is really high on the high scoring guard brother of ex-Knick Joe Crawford who transferred from Indiana to Xavier after the 07/08 season would then have to sit out a year before taking the court again for the 09/10 season.

09/10 Stats - 20.5ppg 4.7rpg 2.9 39%3FG

Free agency was the Knicks biggest weapon this off season hoping to Land Chris Bosh , LeBron James or Dwyane Wade and after the FA summit held by Wade to discuss teaming up in the same nba city neither player could agree on a deal that would work for everyone so decided to go it alone and remain with the current teams.

The Knicks still had options as they hadnt pinned all there hopes and dreams on landing one of the big 3 so set there eyes on who else could be converted to the orange and blue.

Image

After a week of waiting to see if Lebron James , Wade or Bosh would up ship and move to the Big Apple the bad news came that they had chosen to stay put so the Knicks moved on to the plan C , Joe Johnson !

Joe took nearly 2 whole weeks to mull the Knicks offer of 5 years 98 million dollar to come and be the center piece of coach Mike D'Antoni offense and after signing on the line he became the leagues hot topic on can he live up to that large contract ?

Time will tell.

Image

A New York fan favorite this was an easy decision for Walsh and D'Antoni to make the offer to David Lee even while offering money to Chris Bosh the Knicks staying true to there word that they always wanted Lee back in New York.

Question was would David want to return to the Knicks if they had signed Bosh and drafted Larry Sanders ?

Well after many offers from teams like the Thunder , Kings and Heat Lee signed just 1 day after hearing that Bosh was to remain in Toronto.

Image

After Sergio Rodriguez decided to return to Spain it left the Knicks with an either bigger hole at the point guard position , the plan was to draft a backup but the knicks were able to draft 2 players they wanted so they turned to free agents.

Luke Ridnour was a player that the Knicks had there eye on last season and made a pitch that was turned down at the trade deadline so New York is happy to welcome the fast paced pg to there team.

Image

After playing most of the season with David Lee as there center the Knicks said they would be adding size this summer and the did adding 7.0 260lbs defensive minded Brendan Haywood.

Haywood is a strong rebounder and shot blocker which is something the Knicks lack.

Image

The Knicks brought Hilton Armstrong into the Summer league team where he impressed the coaching staff enough to be invited to training camp in which he proved that he was worth the knicks 12th man spot.

Image

Another player that went the same route as Armstrong was Patrick Ewing jr finally making the roster after 3 years of trying hopefully this is his year that he follows in his fathers footsteps at MSG.

Yeah it was the Bucks lol then i changed to the knicks and nearly was changed to the Sixers last night but then back to the knicks !

I just couldnt decide on a team !

Hopefully i can just play this one out , i dont see my team as a huge league crusher like id imagine it would be if id of signed "LeBrosh" :D

And i already lost my 1st game away to the Jazz with my HOF sliders i was kept on my toes all game !

You gave Joe Johnson twice what he's worth, but I like where this is going. A LeBosh dynasty would be a little boring IMO.

Yeah there's no way on earth as a knicks fan that anyone not named Lebron James or Chris Bosh gets a contract worth that much !

Thats the problem with sports video games you can only keep them sort of 60% realistic when it comes to trades and signing.

I actually simmed a season and landed both James and Bosh but it was the stupid draft class i couldnt live with , the Bucks drafted Wall , Turner was drafted 8th and most of the rookies played about 2 minutes per game.

Now you have someone to dunk on LeBron. :)

And yeah, Johnson got twice the money he deserved.

nice add with JJ on that roster and great that you've got Ewing Jr.; hope you make him into a star to leave a legacy of his own greater than his pops in NY

Cheers Clutch, most knick fans would hate my roster because there no lebron there but iam being realistic and i can see both Lee and Johnson on our roster next season.

Ewing is my project which iam gonna spend development points on to work him into the rotation !

I've never had that issue before, but know an easy way around it. When you first start an association, there should be an option that allows you to control all 30 teams in the league. Do just that, so then you can change any teams' rotation once the 2010-2011 season rolls around. You'll probably have to restart the file that you're currently using, but I'm sure you can get things back to where they are as of now. As far as they draft goes, you'll be able to manually choose the player that each team drafts, allowing you to get the same results you have now.
