Thanks mp3. (Y) Glad as always to have you following.

TheDee wrote:Boykins over Foye !!!!

I really want to find a way to get Earl some minutes, but I'm just not a fan of having three point guards in the rotation. If Arenas or Foye get injured though, he'll definitely get some playing time to prove himself worthy then.

De8 wrote:Can't wait til lottery and draft

I hear you man, but we'll have to wait quite some time for that, as I'm playing every game in this first season. It's only a 29-game season though, so it shouldn't take too long. I really think that when this team is healthy, they could find a way to get that eight seed in the east.

Nice team choice. Plans of struggle and drafting Wall, I suppose?

Thanks Thierry. (Y) No plans of struggle, but if the opportunity of drafting Wall presents itself, I'll certainly take a stab at it. Just as I told De8, if we can stay injury-free this season, I think that this team can claim the eight seed in the east.

- Commissioner David Stern Announces NBA Season Length Will Be Shortened

    Image

The NBA has heard many complaints from its participating players and coaches over the past few years, regarding periods of time when their respective teams have played too many games, to their liking, in a short span. Being fed up with the criticism, commissioner David Stern and the NBA's front office have came to a conclusion to decrease the length of the NBA's regular season from 82 games, to 29 games. This will allow each team to play every other team in the league once per regular season, in hopes of making each game more competitive. The normal format for the playoffs will remain unchanged, but preseason games will not be held in public arenas due to unpopularity issues. Instead, teams will privately scrimmage each other in either one's practice facility with officials on hand.

There won't be a profit for the league. Just some good ol' practice for the players is all.

I just needed an excuse to axe the preseason.

- Wizards Show Signs Of Rebuilding After Dealing Core Players

    Image

Much time has passed since the Washington Wizards finished their 2008-2009 NBA season with a disappointing record of 19-36. Gilbert Arenas playing just two games that season most likely did not help in any regard either. In the early stages of this 2009 offseason, the Dallas Mavericks sent Josh Howard, Quinton Ross, James Singleton, and Drew Gooden, who was later traded by the Wizards to the Los Angeles Clippers, to Washington for Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and DeShawn Stevenson. If you don't think that that deal ripped the Wizards in half, then this one most certainly did. A few days later, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Zydrunas Ilgauksas and his expiring contract to Washington for Antawn Jamison. The Wizards also received a 2010 first-round draft pick from the Cavs in that same move. That wasn't all that was to it though, as the Clippers were involved as well. As mentioned earlier, they obtained Drew Gooden from Washington for Al Thornton. Along with Jamison, Cleveland also acquired Sebastian Telfair from Los Angeles.

And so there you have it folks. The only remaining starter from last season that the Washington Wizards have left is Gilbert Arenas, who still has quite some conditioning to do before he gets back into his true form. The Wizards coaching staff has released their plans for the starting lineup in their first game this upcoming season at Memphis, and it is as follows: Arenas at point guard, Mike Miller at shooting guard, Josh Howard at small forward, Andray Blatche at power forward, and JaVale McGee at center. That's not a very convincing lineup for the average NBA fan to fully appreciate, but this team looks to have some great potential to build around for the present and future. Who knows though? They may even be able to sneak into a playoff spot this season, which tips off in exactly one week from now.

Thanks again man. (Y) Even though we're in the early stages of a rebuilding era, we still have a solid lineup that I think can get us a fair amount of wins this season. Hopefully Al and the bench will play a big part in that. :)

- Ernie, Kenny, and Charles Take A Look At Washington's Chances This Season

    Image

    • Ernie Johnson: "Welcome back to TNT's Inside The NBA from Studio J in Atlanta. The Suns and Hawks game from Phoenix will be underway in just a few minutes, but as we finish up our Southeast Division preview, Charles: what do you think of the Wizards' chances this season?"
    • Charles Barkley: "Chances? Listen Ernie, they ain't got no chances this season. Last season, even when they had Jamison, Butler, and Haywood, I said their team was just a bunch of scrubs. You think gettin' rid of all of them for more scrubs will increase their chances this season?"
    • Ernie: "Now that's not what I said Charles."
    • Kenny Smith: "All right, listen. If this team is healthy, I think they can sneak into the eighth seed, just like the Bulls did last season."
    • Charles: "But can they be as good as those Bulls?"
    • Kenny: "Well easy. It depends on who they play."
    • Charles: "Okay. Say they play the Cleveland Cavaliers, who got LeBron James, the best player in basketball. Josh Howard don't got a chance against him."
    • Kenny: "Of course, but they have this young kid named McGee. I haven't seen a center with his athleticism and speed since Dwight Howard. He's gonna' be runnin' the floor, dunkin', and grabbin' all these boards. An older Shaq can't keep up with that."
    • Charles: "But who would win the series?"
    • Kenny: "Easy. Cavs in four."
    • Charles: "That's what I thought. And Gilbert, if you even want your team to have a chance this season, word to the wise: no guns in the workplace!"
    • Ernie: "Come on now Chuck."
    • Charles: "What Ernie?"
    • Ernie: "And just incase any of you fans were wondering, Washington will play the Grizzlies tonight in Memphis. That game will tip off at eight o'clock Eastern Time, but be sure to stick around for our doubleheader. We've got the Suns and Hawks from Phoenix in a bit, followed by Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers taking on Deron Williams and the Jazz in Utah later tonight. After this, we'll send it down to Marv Albert, Reggie Miller, and the The Czar, Mike Fratello. We'll continue previewing every team in the league, starting with the Southwest Division, at halftime. See you then folks."

Same here. (Y) I wish that this year's Finals were on TNT, so I could see EJ, Kenny, and Charles at halftime instead of Stuart Scott, Michael Wilbon, and Jon Barry. :lame: I don't mind Magic though. He's cool.

- Agent Zero Explodes As New-Look Wizards Grind Out Road Win In Memphis

    Image

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Last night, Jason Terry hit a game-winning three pointer to kick off the 2009-2010 NBA season in a very exciting way. The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Sacramento Kings at home, 116-115. Gilbert Arenas would continue this trend tonight, as the Washington Wizards closed the door on the Memphis Grizzlies, 98-91. Arenas poured in 32 points on 14-21 shooting (2-5 3PT), to help boost his team's confidence level. It looks as if he and Andray Blatche will be a duo to be reckoned with this season, as Blatche scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. A few players also made their Wizards debut in this game, and amongst them stood out starters Mike Miller and Josh Howard. They each played fairly decent, scoring 12 and 11 points respectively for their ball club.

As for the Grizzlies, Marc Gasol did not show up to this game, nor play for personal reasons that are unknown. Rudy Gay looked to carry the scoring load in his big man's absence, scoring 25 points in 39 minutes of play. Zach Randolph provided a double-double for Memphis, as he had quite a ball game with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Both Michael Conley (12 points and 9 assists) and Hasheem Thabeet (9 points and 13 rebounds) came up just shy of double-doubles. Among the worst aspects of the Grizzlies' play though, stood out O.J. Mayo's terrible outing. He posted 13 points, but only shot 6-24 from the field. If he came ready to play in this game, his team could've had a real chance at beating this Washington team.

The Washington Wizards will continue their three-game road trip as they travel north to face former Wizard Antawn Jamison and possibly the best team in the NBA, the Cleveland Cavaliers. They have yet to play a game this season, but with LeBron James and his latest sidekick Shaquille O'Neal, you'll have to bring your "A" game against this Cavaliers squad. That game will mark Washington's first appearance on national TV this season, as it will be broadcast next Friday at 8:00 P.M. ET, on ESPN.
