Bulls (0-1) at Celtics (1-1) Preview
Bulls looking for the first win of the season, against a well-known opponent

The Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls met in an epic first-round playoff series last season.
The dramatic seven-game showdown had almost everything, except for 12-time All-Star Kevin Garnett.
The Celtics and Bulls are set to square off for the first time since last season's playoffs Friday night in Boston, but this meeting could have a different feel with a healthy Garnett on the court.
In one of the most exciting playoff series in NBA history, Boston finally eliminated Chicago with a 109-99 victory in Game 7 on May 2. The seventh-seeded Bulls gave the defending champions all they could handle with a league-record four games going into overtime. The teams played a total of seven overtimes in those contests, also an NBA record.
"It was a long, grueling series," Boston star Paul Pierce said after Game 7. "I thought this was one of the most mentally tough series I've ever been in."
While Chicago was able to hang with the Celtics, Boston wasn't at full strength.
Garnett missed 25 games and the playoffs last year with strained ligaments in his right knee and spent most of the Chicago series wearing a suit and a scowl.
Garnett's presence in the post was sorely missed as Chicago's Joakim Noah was able to control the boards, averaging 13.1 rebounds. The Bulls center averaged 7.6 boards in 80 regular-season games.
Without Garnett, the Celtics fell short of winning back-to-back titles, losing to Orlando in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Now that Garnett is back and teamed with Pierce and Ray Allen, Boston looks primed to make another title run.
After defeating Cleveland 96-91 in Tuesday's season opener, the Celtics lost to Charlotte 100-101 on Wednesday.
The Celtics had big trouble shutting down the Bobcats. Trying to contain a Bulls team led by the dynamic Derrick Rose, however, could pose an even bigger problem.
Rose made an immediate impact in last season's playoffs, matching Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's NBA record with 36 points in his postseason debut. The rookie was inconsistent the rest of the way, though. Overall, he averaged 29.0 points on 55.7 percent shooting and 9.0 assists in the three wins, and 12.8 points on 42.4 percent shooting and 4.5 assists in the four losses.
Rose missed most of the preseason due to an inflamed tendon behind his right ankle but looked solid in Thursday's 90-107 season-opening lose to San Antonio, finishing with 23 points and seven assists.
The Chicago product showed some of the explosiveness that carried him to the Rookie of the Year award last season and no signs of the ankle pain that had bothered him the past few weeks. After the game, Rose said the ankle was not an issue.
"In the game, I really didn't feel it,'' said Rose, who played 39 minutes.
While Rose will direct the offense this season, the Bulls need somebody to shoulder the scoring load after Ben Gordon signed a free-agent contract with Detroit in the offseason. The Bulls are looking for the first win of the season.

WEEK 1 REVIEW
After first three games, Bulls have only one win.

Bulls started their season on home court against San Antonio on Thursday. Spurs took control of the game early and led by 22 midway thru third quarter. Spurs finished the game up by 17, 107-90.
Parker, Ginobili and Duncan led Spurs team in scoring. Parker had 32, Duncan 23 and 13 boards while Ginobili added 20 points. Rose led Bulls with 23 points and 6 assists but couldn't handle Parker defensively. Luol Deng had 14, Warrick added 13.

Celtics, were the second opponent for the Bulls. It was a close game in the first half but after the half Celtics pulled away and won the game 21 points, 107-86. Celtics had 7 players in double digits, led by Pierce (23) and newly aquired Nate Robinson (15). Rajon Rondo had 13 points and assists. Bulls were once again led by Derrick Rose who achieved 14 assists and 20 points. Hinrich, Deng and Warrick scored 13 points each.

Bulls first win came on Sunday against Dwayne Wade and his Miami Heat. Bulls were up by one with 5 seconds left, after Deng made 2 free throws. Wade, who scored 32 points took a jumper but the ball bounced off the rim and Bulls won first game of the season, thanks to Rose (26) and Warrick who scored 21. Beasley provided most help to Wade scoring 14 points and adding 6 rebounds. Chicago Bulls are now 1-2 in the start of this season.

“ It was not easy for us. We are still coming together. I'm happy we pulled a win out of the game with Heat. We'll try to build on this one. ” said Del Negro. “ I'm delighted with Derrick, he really made a step forward with his game during the summer. ”
Rose is the best player right now scoring 23 ppg and adding 9,3 assists. Bulls take on Bucks, Cavaliers and Bobcats next week.

O'Neal retiring at season's end

Shaquille O'Neal announced his retirement at the end of 2009-2010 season. “ I want another ring, and this is my last chance. It's my last season.”
O'Neal, 37, made the decision after having problems with injuries recently. Many people however believe that O'Neal is upset with his lack of playing time.
The decision might affect Lebron James and his offseason free agency move.

Bulls looking for wing scorer

Bulls are reportedly looking to add a star shooting guard to their squad. Bulls and Hawks were in intensive talks yesterday but no deal has been made. Bulls are
probably offering Hinrich in exchange for Crawford. Bulls are also interested in Corey Maggette but his heavy contract is the main problem for Bulls.
