KNICKS DISMAL SEASON FINALLY COMES TO AN END

The 2009-10 season was a horrible one for the Knicks association and hopefully one that they can forget. The Knicks finished with a record of 31-51(.378) which was the 5th worst record in the League. With this poor form it will be interesting to see if they will be able to sign a huge superstar such as Lebron James in the offseason. I guess that we will be able to see if money or the chance of competing for a championship is more important to some players.

TEAM LEADERS:

PPG:
15.6 - Chris Duhon
12.1 - Danilo Gallinari
10.2 - Nate Robinson
9.3 - Al Harrington
6.8 - Wilson Chandler

1.3 - Larry Hughes
1.0 - Jonathan Bender

BPG:

1.0 - Al Harrington
1.0 - Eddy Curry
1.0 - Danilo Gallinari
1.0 - Jonathan Bender

SPG:
1.3 - Chris Duhon

Holy hell, what did Duhon eat? That's the same Duhon that donates a new brick to the world everytime he tries to shoot a jumper? If that's the case, holy f.. Btw, Rose in the 1st all defensive team. I'd love to see that happening down the stretch.

Looks good though, the team is terrific on paper although they're just medicore irl. Good luck, I'll try to see what's happening with it.

NEW YORK KNICKS OFF SEASON

LEBRON JAMES FINALLY COMES TO NEW YORK

The Knicks destroyed two seasons in order to clear enough cap space and lure a huge superstar and now finally it was all worth it. LEBRON JAMES has landed in New York and he is here to stay. Lebron James looked like he'd stay in Cleveland after having a terrific regular season and finishing with the best record in the East and the second best in the League. However the Cavs season quickly turned and they were knocked out in the second round of the playoffs against the Celtics. Many analysts have attributed that loss as the turning point for Lebron and when he seriously decided that he was going to sign with the Knicks. At the press conference when Lebron announced his signing Lebron he made known that he was going to lead this team to the playoffs and to his first NBA championship. Lebron told reporters how the team was young, exiting and full of talent and even called his new coach an ''offensive mastermind''. D'Antoni has had two unsuccessful seasons with the Knicks and if they don't get off to a quick start his head could be the first to roll. Lebron's claims of winning a championship with his new team are likely to be a marketing technique but when you think about it why cant the Knicks win a championship. They added one of the best defensive players in the game in Marcus Camby who has returned to the Knicks, they also added another defensive player in Dahntay Jones who will come off the bench and will be sure to provide some much needed defence. They have exiting youth prospects in Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas and also have drafted the #6 pick Carlos Lovell who at centre will recieve alot of minutes. Then there is the huge fan support that the Knicks have which can really help you out in tough situations. Lets hope this great franchise can be restored by Lebron James and that he can lead this team to victory.

Yeah as a Nuggets fan I was gutted when they let him loose. But now he should be able to give the Knicks the defence that they need.

LEBRON ERUPTS IN KNICKS DEBUT

As soon as the Knicks went on the floor the sold out crowd at the Garden standed and they didn't sit down. The match was fast paced with both sides shooting the ball well. Lebron James didn't dissapoint on the night and scored 16 points in the first quarter alone. The most exiting part of the night was not the the Knicks hot shooting but their defence. The team as a unit had a total of 13 blocks and this really gave the Knicks the momemtum they needed to get the win. Everybody knows that David Lee is a good player but he has been heavily critisized about his defence. Alot of this is due to the fact that he has had to play out of position but know with the inclusion of Marcus Camby he gets to play his preffered position of power forward. Lee over the summer worked very hard on his defence and on opening night it showed. Lee is not known as a blocker but on the night he had 3 to his name and these blocks were on big men such as Nene and Chris Anderson. Also who impressed on the defensive end was bench player Danilo Gallinari. Gallinari had an exceptional game with 5 points, 2 rebounds and a career high 4 blocks. Also worth mention is Carlos Lovell who had his NBA debut tonight. The #6 pick had a alright night scoring 6 points and grabbing 3 boards. From the game we can see that Lovell really needs to work on his positioning but with the time we saw of him he looks to be a fan favourite with his big dunks and afro hairstyle. The Knicks face the Hornets next and look to get their second win of the season.

FINAL RESULT: 108 - 97 (W)
