LEBRON ERUPTS IN KNICKS DEBUTAs soon as the Knicks went on the floor the sold out crowd at the Garden standed and they didn't sit down. The match was fast paced with both sides shooting the ball well.
Lebron James didn't dissapoint on the night and scored 16 points in the first quarter alone. The most exiting part of the night was not the the Knicks hot shooting but their
defence. The team as a unit had a total of
13 blocks and this really gave the Knicks the momemtum they needed to get the win. Everybody knows that
David Lee is a good player but he has been heavily critisized about his defence. Alot of this is due to the fact that he has had to play out of position but know with the inclusion of
Marcus Camby he gets to play his preffered position of power forward.
Lee over the summer worked very hard on his defence and on opening night it showed.
Lee is not known as a blocker but on the night he had
3 to his name and these blocks were on big men such as
Nene and Chris Anderson. Also who impressed on the defensive end was bench player
Danilo Gallinari.
Gallinari had an exceptional game with
5 points, 2 rebounds and a career high 4 blocks. Also worth mention is
Carlos Lovell who had his NBA debut tonight. The #6 pick had a alright night scoring
6 points and grabbing 3 boards. From the game we can see that
Lovell really needs to work on his positioning but with the time we saw of him he looks to be a fan favourite with his big dunks and afro hairstyle. The Knicks face the Hornets next and look to get their second win of the season.
