New New York Knicks - Total makeover

Postby raunts61 on Tue Dec 29, 2009 9:16 pm

New York Knicks has been sold to a new owner. His name is Arvin Orb. " I have been a big fan of Knicks since i remember and i really don't like how they are playing right now. I'm going to change this team into run & gun team in few days. Knicks have great head-coach Mike D'Antoni. He is my kind of Coach and he is staying as long as i have this team " were the words of Arvin when asked why he bought the team.

´At Arvin's office´

* Knock Knock *
Arvin - Come in Mike.
Mike - You wanted to see me?
Arvin - Yes. I have decided a punch of trades i had in mind. Take a look, can you handle these guys. If you can i will start negotiating right now.
* Mike takes a look at the papers *
Mike - Yes these two, i have coached them before, i can surely make something out of them. * Hmmmm * And those two Centers have a lot of potential. Yeah i would love to work with these guys.
Arvin - Right. I will do the calls right away, you can go now.
Mike - Ok.

Arvin - I like you, you are confident. Keep it up, go stand next to Steve. Now, he is tall and he is good. He is Tyson Chandler!!!! His agent told me Tyson would settle for number 6, so we gave him number 6.

´Smith gets the mike´

´Game day ´
New York Knicks and it's totally new look has their first game in Miami against its favorite boy Wade and Miami Heat.
Knicks will have hard time with Wade, he averaged 30,2 pg last season. Knicks will surely try run them over as Knicks have really fast and running team as they will play run & gun .

´At Lockers´
Mike - I know we haven't had enough time to get used to each other but lets try to give our best on the court. I will announce the starting five. Nash, Smith, short Chandler, STAT and tall Chandler. Robinson you are my sixth man, so be ready to run to court when ever i need you. I want fast and running game. If your tired i can substitute you when ever its needed, we have guys. So go out there and give your best.
* Amar'e stands up and reaches his hand out*
Amar'e - Knicks on three.
* All guys gather around him and put their hands on top of Amar'es *
Amar'e - One....Two...Three
EVERYONE - KNICKS !!!!

Even when Knicks just traded practically entire team, they got their important first win in Season Opener over Heat. Chalmers 41 points didn't help Heat either when Knicks took lead in 4th quarter and won the game 126:123..
Really good night for J.R Smith who scored Kinkcs best 29 points this night. Stoudemire got 20 points and W. Chandler got 23 points.
Heats Wade got 20 points and 17 dimes. Knicks Tyson Chandler blocked 4 shots had 2 steals and 4 rebounds and was best defensive player of the night.
" Our guys played their first game together only after 2 practices. I can say i am pleased with them. Give them little more time to click and we have Championship team. " said Mike D'Antoni when asked what did he think of tonight's game. We asked the same question from Amar'e : " It felt good, really good. Mike is great coach and made the team connect only after 2 trainings. I am pleased to play with such talented guys and as i said earlier, we have what it takes to get to the finals. "

The Hassell-Webster deal, or the Nash-Frye for Hughes-Douglas, those are trades that you just can't do, you raped them in both deals.

Wow, Wade 20pts + 17 assists. You just couldn't handle him and Chalmers. :)

Thierry - i agree on the Nash trade with you..but not on the Webster one...Hassel is better player than Webster, but i like playing with webster

KB24 - I know, they totally killed me, my players always left them alone which was pain in the ass

Trade analysis:

Gallinari, Hill, '10 2nd Rd pick, '11 2nd Rd pick to Nuggets for Smith & White IMHO is a slightly better deal talent wise for the Nuggets.

Lee, Curry, '10 1st Rd pick, '11 1st Rd pick to Suns for Amar'e & Robin Lopez is a very fair deal, considering if Suns suck, Amar'e wouldn't sign & NY is a possible destination. My only issue with this trade is that IRL the Knicks don't own their 2010 1st Round pick. Utah actually owns the rights & the Jazz have to convey the lower of their 1st Rd pick or the Knicks' pick to the T'wolves (yes, I have made this trade in my Association  )

Robin Lopez, Jeffries, Duhon to Nets for Sean Williams, Hassell & Battie is better deal for Nets talent wise. Don't know how long Jeffries' contract still runs for. Don't mind you re-joining the twins.

Harrington to Bobcats for Chandler isn't too bad a deal on the face of it. Can understand it from Charlotte's persepective since Harrington's deal is an expiring one & Chandler's isn't.

All good for above four IMHO, but then all goes pear shaped:

Hassell to Blazers for Webster is a horrible trade for Portland. Just horrible.

Nash & Frye to Suns for Hughes & Toney Douglas. Don't know what to say about this one. Terrible for Phoenix considering it is Nash.

Frye & Darko to Grizzlies for Thabeet & Haddadi is very unrealistic. Grizzlies wouldn't give up on 2nd overall pick (as crap as he is) this quickly.

If you can reverse the last few trades then not so bad.

So considering the Knicks will finish worse than the Jazz, the T-Wolves get the Knicks pick? Minny has two picks? I need to change that in my D, too :)

lower pick doesn't mean the pick from the lower team imo, that's actually the higher pick :cheeky:

I actually found Real GM's page easier to read/understand.

http://www.realgm.com/src_future_draftpicks.php

I didn't worry about any conditional 2nd Rounders or draft picks owned 2012 & beyond. Only 2010 & 2011 ones. In relation to Knicks/Jazz trade, the Knicks are giving up their 2010 1st Round pick in relation to the Stephon Marbury Suns' trade of years ago. I believe Suns traded that pick to Jazz over last couple of years. But Jazz owe T'wolves a 1st Round pick in 2010, but it's going to be the lower of the Jazz & Knicks' pick. In my dynasty since NY is at .500 & Jazz are a few games under, I gave T'wolves the Knicks' pick & the Jazz keep their own pick which will be higher & probably lottery.

Most of trades I've sorted outside of Bobcats' & T'wolves protected 1st Round picks, which I can hopefully sort out in 2011 season.

Sorry to raunts for thread hijack
