Greg Oden dominated as the Blazers won against the Rockets

Portland,Oregon

As season starts on october the 28th,Portland Trailblazers won their first home game against the Houston Rockets. The "yaoless" Rockets had some major problems in the paint.Greg Oden and LaMarcus Aldridge were unstoppable and that was the main reason for the loss. The Blazers take early lead as they won the first quarter 31 to 17 and the second - 32 to 23.In the first half the Rockets played like kids. They made too many turnovers, they were not boxing out their opponents and they deservedly were 23 points behind at the half. They made a nice comeback in the third when their star - Tracy McGrady scored 16 of his 25 points.Mac was recovering all summer long from the knee injury and he looks really good right now.Even with the injury and the 10 kilograms in plus he was so fast that Roy couldnt do anything in the third. It looks like McGrady is re-born.Houston won that 3rd quarter 34 to 13 and the difference was only 2 points, but the Blazers started the 4th quarter with a 15-0 scoring run and the Rockets couldn't do anything.
It seems like Houston will have big problems this year against teams with good power forwards or centers.Without Yao there is a big hole in the paint.Come on..Chuck Hayes is a starting center and he's 6'6.
Greg Oden won the Player of The Game award with 17 points,13 rebounds and 3 steals.LaMarcus Aldridge added 18 points and 9 rebounds.Brandon Roy scored 16 points and 5 assists.Rudy Fernandez and Joel Przybilla were good off the bench.L'espagnol scored 14 points and Przybilla finished with 9 points and 11 rebounds.
Tracy McGrady was the highscorer today with 25 points,4 rebounds and 3 assists. The young point guard Aaron Brooks scored 20 points and 5 assists.Former NBA champion,Trevor Ariza scored 13 points in his debut as a rocket.David Andersen made a good impression,he didnt score last night but he had 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
